B4 / 382 lbs
now / 226 lbs
lost 156 lbs
Hope to get to 180 lbs
The best part is how great I feel. So happy and healthy
I, also, don't realize how different I look. This is the best thing I have ever done for myself.

before - 260
current - 165
total - 95 lbs
I have been at 165 for about 2 months now (I think). I'm happy with the way I look. I wish I could lose 5 more just to say I'm in the century club though.

Topic: where R you?
Hello everyone!!!
I was just wondering where everyone is on their weight?
B4 surgery = 360 lb's
surgery day = 345 lb's
today = 239 lb's
total = 121 lb's
Just yesterday I finally realized I've lost weight!!!
People have been saying Its amazing to see how much I've lost.
Now its sunk in I was at a friends and looked at a full length mirror and did a double take I could not belive it was me!!!
If I never loose another ounce in my life time I'll die a very happy(and healthy) woman!
It's time to throw out the mens size 5x t-shirts and the size 32 strech till ya cant stretch no more pants.

Kind of makes you wonder about the kind of person that makes it into med school, and then chooses general surgery. OK - many are nice, but a greater-than-statistically-probable proportion of surgeons have a real god complex and have had their own manners surgically removed.

Eileen,
Wish there was some way I could help you. I had the RNY done so I'm not sure how the Band works as far as how much weight you loose each week. Make sure you drink only water, eat yogurt & drink skim milk. These will help you loose weight. Say away from sugar, go to a substitue like Splendia. I lost 24lbs before surgery just by eating salads, tuna, drinking nothing bu****er. Make sure you stay away from carbonated drinks & sodas. They stretch your new stomach & you'll not loose or you can gain the weight you loss back. Hope these suggestions help! Take care! Wish you the best in your journey!
Topic: RE: Getting Discouraged.....LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGG......
Please girls, take a good look at your before and afters. I did and you are all sooooo much more prettier and happier in your after pictures! Take a good look and I am sure you will see it! My doctor also told me that he will not recommend plastic surgery until after I am at goal weight for a year. A YEAR! I cried, yes he replied you need to let your skin memory catch up with your weight loss. Uhm, my skin memory is 52 years old, hope it can remember when I was in my 20's!!!!!! I was thin for such a brief moment. But I am so releaved that the numbers are finally going down that I refuse to worry until I am at goal weight. At my rate of loss it will be, lets see....................WHEN I AM 80.
Try to be happy with what you have accomplished and check with a plastic surgeon. Get more than one opinion, because yes, insurance sometimes pay for PS when you have skin irratation and a lot of doctors have payment plans. Do not give up. We are worth it.

Topic: Apparently slow loser and slow learner!
Hi everyone, I am new to the Oct board, but have been on the main board since October. I didn't even know this one existed (hence the slow learner). I just stumbled on this one today. I was banded in October and was wondering if I could have some of you tell me how much you lost and what you eat in a day. I know I am a slow loser, started at 250 and still not in onderland. Is anyone else a slow loser? I am happy that the scale is going down but wi**** could be a little faster. However, just last month I think I finally reached the sweet spot. Even with that I still am only losing about 1/2 lb a week. I can eat almost anything I want but not a whole lot of anything. Sweets are a problem for me and I struggle with them daily (darn choclate fairy sits on my shoulder almost every day). I do go to the gym Mon-Fri and do cardio for 30-45 minutes and then about 20 minutes of different weight training. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am so glad to hear others have this same issue!
Hmmm ... that is funny ... naming your pouch! Maybe I should name mine!?!? Will have to think of a name .... I love yours, ... Surely ....
I've not really had much of a problem with the gas ... should consider myself lucky, huh?
Thanks! And congrats to you too, on your success! You look great as well!

LOL... not to worry.. my surgeon has told me its normal... and sometimes it goes away and sometimes it doesnt... but the worst for me, has to be the gas i can never get rid of... Caroline...
It could be that you're not eating enough, though everybody's doctor has something different to say about that.
I'm a few weeks more out than you and I'm eating anywhere between a cup and a 1 1/2 cups of food per meal. (~1000 calories)
I did find out when I was working out so much that I had to increase my calories, but had to be careful that it wasn't junk.
I wouldn't worry about eating more...in fact, I would probably recommend it.
Good luck!
