Topic: RE: starting over...back to basics
I'm right there with you ladies. I'll be checking out this website to get back on track. I am terrible w/ my protein, my main staple is cheese. I cannot stand eggs, or egg salad. I have lost 1/3 of my weight which my doc said would be goal for me but I would like to loose an extra 10 lbs. I've been steady for months, fluxuating 2 lbs w/ water weight. Thanks for the info, and I wish all of you continued success!

This is such a good idea. I started counting calories, carbs and protein on the 12th. I had to up the protein and cut some carbs, but dang it worked.
I ate about 1000 calories a day and low and behold I'm down 7 pounds today. Thats a pound a day for a week!
I was losing 0-5 pounds a month. Those months of not losing are just plain torture.
Thanx for helping me get back on track, Barbara
Topic: RE: Morbiid Obesity coding
Yes, in fact, I am in a battle with my insurance right now. I was a self pay for the surgery but they said they would pay for all my post-op "stuff" labs, etc. and are backing out. I think it is because it is still being coded as morbid obesity and I am not anymore. I am on vacation right now, so I will have to see what's in the mail when I get home.
good luck

Hey girl,
You and I had surgery on the same day. I too sometimes feel like I am living in a dream world. Took a family vaction to Washington DC this week and the shopping was awesome. I was able to buy a size 6 slacks in Banana Republic. I wanted to scream so bad but thought not in such a "chee chee" store. LOL
Take care, and congrats to you too.

Topic: RE: Stomach in or Stomach out
I didnt know we would have even had a choice. I was told that the leftover stomach is still "alive" and functioning for other purposes, and it wouldnt hurt anything being in there ..... hmmm ????
Topic: RE: where R you?
well I have not been to the boards much in the past several months but figured since I was here and the post was this title, I'd update.
post surgery 378
current weight 260
weight lost 118
30 more pounds to go for my personal goal but very satisfied with where I am now. still feel fat and obviously still have a very round middle full of what used to be my chest I believe.
I do not exercise like Iknow I should never did like exercise even as a kid. and I do eat more now that I imagine I should be. no foods bother me very much other than chicken. mainly I eat boiled shrimp and cacktail sauce when I can. I can now eat a full single sandwich and I will admit to trying refined sugar, no problems unfortunately. still addicted to cereal though I am down to twice a day on it and not 4 times. I no longer do the 6 meals a day but do snack a lot on fruit, lots of fruit. I loke most of you ping pong on the one pound down and one pound up mode as well. If I can continue to lose even 2 pounds a month from this point on to my goal I will be very happy. would love to have the excess skin removed which should be around 12 pounds but doc says to wait till 18 months out. so no hurry I dont suppose. looks like everyone is doing very well and I commend you all. keep up the good work. Joe

Jennifer,
I am so happy that you have finally broken through. I am getting so discouraged. I am 10 months out and have only lost 84 pounds since I have started this journey. I have only lost 10 pounds in the last four months. I am just so frustrated. I have finally started to go back to barely consuming anything and adding back in the protein supplements but I have been hovering around the same four pounds for the last two weeks. Everyone that posts has done so much better. I am feeling like such a failure at this. I hate to think about going back to my doctor in October because I just feel so bad about things right now. I think I will trying the food diary again and see if I can shake this stall. I really thought that I would have lost more weight by now. My diet has changed so drastically since before the surgery. I guess that just goes to show how different we all are. I know now how hard I had struggled before surgery to lose weight and had such a hard time. I just thought that this would be a little easier with this new found sense of control. Thanks for listening and again congratulations on the weight-loss you have had.
