Topic: Is this it?!
hello all,
Oct. 20th was my 1 year appointment with my surgeon and I left their quite disappointed. I was weighed and I currently weigh 315.7 pounds. That is a total of 136 pounds lost. I realized again that I have lost only 7 pounds since April. Not happy and wanted to cry. In any case, my surgeon said something that stopped me in my tracks. He actually said that I would probably be able to lose for another six months but not as easy as the previous six months. He also said that he was very happy with what I have lost and he would be perfectly happy if I didn't lose another pound!! Can you believe that?!! Here I am 5'5" and 315.7 pounds. I am still considered super morbidly obese and he is happy with my weightloss. I thought I would become physically sick. I feel so much better than a year ago but I get tired the same and I am still not able to do much exercising, so I know that I have a lot more to lose. I feel like such a failure and have been so discouraged for so long. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I feel as if I am going to have to start all over again and start at the basics. I pray that this isn't my final weight because I don't know what I will do!!!

Glad to hear everyone is doing well. I love the names you picked for your children. They are not common here in Maine.
My first child was in a hurry also. I was due Oct.5th and she was born Aug. 2nd. She weighed 3lb 8oz at birth. At one old week she was 2lb 12oz.
Today she , well I hadn't better give her weight, she would kick me. LOL
But she is 39 years old and has been married 22 years. She has a daughter, Pepita age 20 and a son, Ryan age 17. Its hard to beleive she was so tiny.
My husbands home town is Carlsbad N.M.
He took me there a year ago for vacation. If I had to live some place other than Maine I would move there in a heart beat.

Hi Robyn,
Thanks for the support. It's been interesting as I've heard from quite a few people who are in our same situation. I guess it means we needed this surgery even more than others, since it's such a struggle for us! I'm starting to think that quite a lot don't lose all their weight and probably really end up losing about 70% if their lucky. This is the side of the surgery they don't tell you about. I guess it never occurred to me that I might not lose all the weight. I guess I just figured it would happen for me, no problem, since I wasn't as big as many I've seen on these boards. Anyway, best of luck to you and keep up the carb counting and water drinking and it will come off eventually!
I wonder what it is about being near 200 that so many stahl. Maybe our bodies need time to "catch up" - who knows? But I'm sure you'll reach your goal of under 200 by Christmas - don't even worry about it!
Take care,
Joyce
Topic: Update on wife and new baby girl
On 23 October around 1040 pm we had a new baby girl weighing in at
2.1 lbs. She was due on 14 January but decided to come a little
early. Ira is doing fine. This is # 5 for us, we have 10 yr old
Mariah, 5 yr old RJ, 4 yr old Aaliyah, 14 month old Micah, and our
new born, I think her name is Keerah....but am not yet sure, I will
wait till Ira is off the Meds before writing it in stone.
