I have hit a platueas several times in the past four months and then lose 5 to 7lbs in a couple of weeks. This is common and you will continue to lose. When I hit a platuea I change up some things that i am doing ie. drink more water walk more(park farther from the mall or wherever I am going).I walk at work instead of driving our little company issued cart when time permits. The smallest things can make the biggest differences. I just hit 198lbs after being at 205 for three weeks so I understand how you can get discouraged. You will continue to lose just use your tool to your advantage. Hang in there and congrats on your loss so far.

You are doing great! Just keep it up - you are a great source of support for everyone, and I think it's only fair to return the favor! It can be done if you put your mind to it - I am proof of that. Sometimes I think I could have done more if I just wouldn't have cheated when I did. But I got back on track with my DH and his diet, and I started losing again! We are ALL beautiful people, inside and out! Chin up - and look out 140... here she comes!!! Jolene 280/142/...140

Joyce, I am in the same boat as you. I started at 299 and currently at 213 I keep bouncing from 213 -220 urghhhh. I have been so discouraged my husband says I'm in a bad mood all the time. What do we do? In fact I came to the Oct board because my surgery was Sept 20th I thought maybe some early Oct folks would be in my shoes or have some answers. It sucks to work so hard and have no weight budge. I'm trying to change my attitude and see all the benefits to the weight I have lost. We are winners and we can do this. Feel free to email me anytime. Tina 299/213/145?

It is soooo hard to believe it has already been a year! This has by far been the greatest year of my life. I have went from 3X shirts to S or M. And I have went from a size 24 pants to a LOOSE 6! OMG! But all in all - I am a better person because of it. My family eats healthier than it ever has before. And we do soooo much more together now that I am not tired and miserable all the time! And believe it or not - we are going to try and have another child! My nutritionist and surgeon have both cleared me!!! I have met their goal weight - actually surpassed it! And I only have 3 more pounds to go to my personal goal! I hope this wonderful year has been good for everyone - Jolene 280/143/...140

Congrats!!! That is such an awsome feeling isn't it??? I had my surgery on 10/20/04 and just celebrated my 1 year as well. I am down about 125 to 128 pounds. I have been going back and forth for the past couple of weeks. My goal was to have lost 130 by my 1 year date even though I didn't make it I am very happy with the weight I have lost. Keep up the great work and your wedding day you looked beautiful! I love the dress! Best of luck in your journey! Barb, Monroe, MI 10/20/04 275/148/145

Wow...I was starting to think I would never get here, but this morning the scale said 182 for a total of -100 pounds and -15 inches off my waist!!!! I'm so excited and thrilled to be where I'm at which is about 20-25 pounds from goal and then I'd like to maintain for at least a year and have plastics. I hope to be able to lose the other 20-25 in the next 6 months or so. My loss seemed so slow compared to others and I have to admit, about a month ago I was getting very discouraged because the scale hadn't been moving in a month or so. I received a lot of encouragement and support from people on this site, I love you guys! I re-committed myself to my goals and went back to basics and the pounds started coming off again. My one year followup with my surgeon was 10/19 and he was ecstatic with my results...that was also very encouraging. My labwork was excellent too. I just want to say congratulations to everyone who had the courage to make the life changing decision to have this surgery. By no means has it been the "easy" way out, but I would do it again in a heartbeat. May we all reach our goals! ~Stacy Lap RNY 10/11/2004 282/182/155
