Hi Sharon... If you like Wendys I would try their chili. It is really good and its only .99..... It is full of protein. I also like to eat their chicken nuggets on occasion. Not very often becasue they are heavily breaded. Does your family like breakfast food for supper. I like to make sausuage and eggs and toast for dinner. Its alot of protein and make sure you drain the grease from your sausage as much as possible. Try to eat 1/2 a slice of toast. During the day if possible hard boil some eggs at night and eat a few throughout the day. 1 egg has like 7 grams of protein in it. If you can stomach eating 3 a day thats an additional 21g of protein. Thats equivalent to 1 protein shake. I dont like the shakes much either but WE HAVE to have the protein. You definatly need more calories but try to ditch the carbs... They will make you hungrier and hungrier... How much weight have you lost since surgery?? Try putting some ribs in the crock pot with some onion gravy and seasonings. Let them cook all day and by the time you get home they are ready and make you some deviled eggs or something for your side. If your family is like mine they love anything made with eggs. I am trying to use my crock pot as much as possible. You can also put chicken breasts in there and let it cook all day and maybe have a side of mac n cheese. NOT ALOT but enough to give you some change. The cheese in it is a good source of protein just try to only have a little and try to eat your protein first. Another good source of protein is beans and peas. I like to cook Purple Hull Peas...I dont do it often because they are high in fat but on occasion I eat them. I havent given up mayo yet and I probably wont. That is one thing I just cant ditch. Its my weakness. Make tuna mixed with mustard or mayo and take it work. If you can - eat it without bread or crackers. Although a few crackers wont kill you. Tuna Salad is good too... Just mayo, eggs, and onions. I like it like that. Of course you can substitute the mayo with mustard and you wont worry about the fat... I would just hate giving up mayo. Get some protein powder and mix it in your milk... Or buy the Carb Countdown Choc Milk. It is very good. It has 12g of protein in 1 glass of it. I do not recommend the White carb countdown cause it is NASTY! However, the choc milk is very good and not near as thick as the protein shakes.

Topic: RE: WOW moments?
These WOW moments are wonderful, aren't they? I have been obese so long that I have a new WOW moment all the time(or so it seems!) My first one happened when I was late for work and had to find something to wear. I grabbed a top that was always too snug and though, nah it won't be comfy enough. Then I tried it anyway and it fit well. I feel that my biggest wow was when my boyfriend and I made love a couple weeks ago. I don't mean to be too graphic, but I really noticed it and so did he. The steering wheel thing seems to be rather common. It was pretty profound for me. I actually haven't moved my seat yet, I like to see the space, it reminds me that I am doing ok! I can feel bones that I never could before! Jeans that I held onto, but didn't fit into, fit me now! A man gave me his phone number last night! I can get up out of the bathtub easily! I am losing my boobs! I tried on shoes and my feet are getting less wide! I had to go down a size or a half size depending on the shoe! I have had so many more, but those are what come to mind now! It is beginning to get fun, being able to do little things that I never could before, like beginning to see my upper thighs! Happy Holidays everyone! Amber

thats a lot of carbs and calories in that with very little protein. I'd switch to the chili with added cheese for more protein. I have avoided carbs and starches since surgery mainly because I can't eat very much and when I do eat I try to find some protein. like you I need to increase my calories but right now I do it by drinking more low fat chocolate milk. 9 g of protein in each glass and it tastes good. If I could stomach the protein drink more I'd do a second or third protein glass a day but I hate the stuff. If you can tolerate real food well you might try the lean cusine or weigh****chers meals in the frozen food section the have usually 19 to 27 g of protein.

Topic: RE: anyone experiencing this pain?
I had a pain like this, in my upper right side about an inch from the incision line. I asked my surgeon, because it was like being shot with a spear gun! He said it was a suture that pulled when I moved a certain way, and the best thing to do was massage the spot in the shower, while the skin was wet and slippery. This way the area around the suture would generate scar tissue, which wouldn't be as sensitive. It probably would have fixed itself eventually, but this helped it clear up faster.

Hi Joe... I just wanna say that you are doing an amazing job with your protein. You have lost 55 pounds and I have only lost 49. You had your surgery 3 weeks after me. I am jealous. I too miss eating foods but I am getting so much better with my head hunger. I think you are doing so good. Walking 3 miles a day is fantastic. I dont know why you are beating yourself up... I would be thrilled out of my mind... Men tend to lose quicker than women. I will just keep telling my self that.. hahaha...... I too like you eat alot of Wendys chili. It is good, hot and is full of protein. What I dont eat -my daughter or parrots do.... I dont like leftovers either.... YOU ARE DOING GREAT!

Yes, now that you mention it. I weighed 232 for almost a year and thats where I had my first plateau after WLS. In 1997 I was 310 lbs and dieted down to 232. I could not get past it. That plateau finely broke and I went down to 186 lbs. Then came the regain( again ) On the way back up I stoped at 232 for a while and then stopped at 270. Ouch! 267/258/217/126
