Topic: RE: What did you eat today?
I am glad someone started this...
B Worldwide Protein Drink, Dutch chocolate
S - none too busy
L 4 oz salmon, small amount of potato, zucchini, and carrots
S s/f popsicle
D 4 oz salmon, small amount of potato, zucchini, and carrots (leftovers from a Christmas party and have more for tomorrow)
S s/f Carb Solutions ice cream bar
I know I did not get in enough calories today but with an office party and work, I just did not have time.
Water - about 48 oz but will try to get another 12 oz before bed.
I also did not have time to do my Fitday counter
Sheryl
Tomorrow will be better
Topic: RE: anyone experiencing this pain?
I had the same pain as you described - I had a regularly scheduled follow-up with my surgeon, but I almost called him a few days before because I was close to tears with this pain! He said I had overworked my abs too soon and it was similar to a pulled muscle. Like the pp said, he told me to ride it out and it went away a few days later. He told me to skip the ab machines at the gym and to give them a break for a week or so. Good luck!
Topic: What did you eat today?
OK - someone had a great idea of posting what we ate that day so I will start. I am back on the wagon and had a very low carb - high protein day and I am so proud of myself!
B - protein drink (6 tbsp Amino Infusion Fruit Punch mixed with 16 oz water)
S - 8 oz Carb Countdown Chocolate milk
L - 2 oz tuna mixed with 1 tsp mayo and 1/2 tsp sweet pickles
S - string cheese
D - 2 oz chicken with 1 tbsp spaghetti sauce and parmesean cheese
2 tbsp spinach
S - 1/4 c Edy's Carb Benefit Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream (which I am eating as I type)
Totals: 594 calories, 24 fat, 13 carbs and 77 protein. My carbs have been in the 60 - 80's the past week so this was a much better day! I think I should have skipped the ice cream - a full serving, which is 1/2 c - has 11 grams of fat, so I got 6 grams with 1/4 c - that seems high for a snack. BUT it did really kill my craving for something sweet. It also accounted for 7 of my 13 carbs so I would have had a killer day without it.

Topic: RE: whats for dinner?
My nutritionist said I wasn't getting enough calories at 600. She wants me at 800-1200. I also asked about Wendy's chili, and she didn't recommend it due to the high fat content. I did make my own chili at home in the crock pot. I used ground turkey instead of beef, Busch's Best Chili Beans, Hunt's Tomato Sauce, chili powder and red pepper. It was really good! I ended up freezing it though, because it takes a long time to eat a crock pot of chili when you are only eating 1 cup at a time.
Topic: RE: I'm doing okay regardless of what others are doing
You're doing just great! I have to keep reminding myself that we may all be on the same journey, but we're in our own vehicles to get to the destination.

Topic: I'm doing okay regardless of what others are doing
Saw my doctor today and he says I'm right on schedule. I was concerned about not being able to eat much regular food (solids) but was told not to try to rush things. I'm still eating pureed foods. I was told not to compare myself with others and as long as I'm feeling okay, not to worry about the amount and types of foods I'm NOT getting. If I feel healthy, most likely I am. Loss of 43lbs since Oct.4
Topic: RE: Names Please......................
Hi, my surgery was the day before you. At three weeks I stopped losing. It lasted for almost 3 weeks. And then about 2 weeks ago my weight loss ended again. Now this week its started again. It seems to go that every 10 lbs. my body stops and recuperates. Its frusterating but I try to remind myself, patience, the journey just began a few months ago. I've lost 43 lbs.

THe chili is not really spicy. It is a little but not terribly. But... saying that the hotter the better for me. My daughter who also likes spicy too but she is 8 likes the chili and its not too hot for her. Give it a whirl you might like it!!
