Denise
I drink Worldwide protein (can). They have vanilla, chocolate, cappichino, strawberry and have either 21 or 35 g of protein/drink. I get them at Trader Joe's. They need to be real cold and the taste is good.
Good Luck

Denise,
I like the ones from GNC, Protein 95
. It was one that my doctor recommended. And it's not too thick. I also hate thick drinks. I wouldn't even drink eggnog because it's too thick, that was before surery of course.

Topic: RE: What did you eat today?
I ate lots of food today.
1/2 English muffin with Peanut butter
2-3 ozTurkey, 2tbsdressing, gravy, 2tbs potatoes (all fit into a saucer size plate) took a long time to eat it.
2oz beef jurkey
1.5 ounces of trail mix
1 peanut butter cup (tiny sized)
36 ounces of water so far.
still have to have dinner in there somewhere. It is only 5pm here!
That is probably a very typical amount of food for me to eat most days.

What kind does everyone like? I don't like the thick shakes, but need to find something.

Do you guys go to support meetings -- are there any in your areas? That is one thing that has really really really helped me along the way. Both pre-op and post-op. You can meet others - exchange/share ideas - ask questions - get answers to questions ..... they, to me, are a real "pick-me-up" too, if having a bad day or whatever. I go to 2 of them each month, and try to never miss one.

Topic: RE: What did you eat today?
Hi, I had surgery on 10-6-04 and have had 2 endoscopy/dilations since. Right after the first one (at which time they removed 2 loose staples), I have been able to eat everything that was on the sheets the dieticians gave to us. Turkey, chicken, hamburger, etc. Sometimes I cannot tolerate the lunch meats, like from the deli at the store, but I can eat the cooked turkey meat like you would have at Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. I'm still having a problem getting all the liquids in, though.
I have lost 58lbs to-date.
This morning, I wanted a piece of toast, jelly, and bacon, soooooo bad. So I went ahead and got it - ate it, but it just sat there real heavy. I ended up getting sick.
But then at lunch time, I had 1/2 of a personal size, cheese pizza from ARNI's!!!! It was real good -- first time for that, and it stayed down fine! Food is wierd .. you just have to try it, and if it dont work, it dont. If it does, it does. ???
I havent had too much bread yet, because I was afraid to try it, since we arent to have it for 1 year (per my dietician) ... but I have to say that I have experimented a little bit.

Topic: RE: Smiley's / Emotions
When you post or respond to another posting, over to the right hand side, there are 2 blue bars. One says "Title Images", and the other one says "Message Emoticons". Once I type a message in the little box, then I click on "Preview" to look at it. Once I have that preview screen up, I click on the "Message Emoticons" (the down arrow) and you can find out which little emoticon you want. In the 1st column, it will tell you what to type in to your posting in order to get that little emoticon to appear. I just highlight the one I want (everything between the two ":") , copy it, and then paste it below my typed words. Then when you hit "submit", it should pop in there. ....hope that helps.....

Hi Pete,
This is a great board. It is never good to compare yourself to others, but this board allows us to know that we are right on track and not alone! It helps us to know that we are normal. I am glad you found us! Congrats on your surgery!
I hope you had a wonderful holiday!
Nice to meet you,
Amber
Topic: RE: WOW moment
Congratulations!
I had my own wow moment Saturday. I bought some 18's "for the future" and dug out 20's from my closet. The 20's were way too big, the 18's are a bit big, but still fit!
I had surgery on Oct 13 and I am now 51 lbs down!
My husband has begun pinching my behind again, too!
