Topic: RE: Stuck pig? Anyone? (WARNING: MENSTRUAL CONVERSATION)
Sorry to butt in, but this subject hits close to home with me... In 1999 I began to have some MAJOR issues with my period, where I would bleed heavily (with serious clotting) for MONTHS. Anyway, when I finally figured out it wasn't going to stop, I went to the doctor and was very close to becoming anemic (yes, I should have gone much sooner!). Anyway, after some time of having the same issue, I was finally diagnosed with subclinical hypothyroidism. I take Synthroid every day. I was also put on the pill to regulate my periods since I wasn't ovulating. OK, long story short. I still take my Synthroid every day. But, I stopped taking the pill and since the surgery, I am getting a normal (one heavy day only, sometimes two) period on a regular basis. I am simply flabbergasted! I've never really been regular... and now I am! I wanted to mention that I found out through lots of research when I started on Synthroid (info was not given to me with the pills) that SOY counteracts the thyroid pill effects. So, I am carefull to choose other types of protein that are not SOY based. Anyway! You may want to have your thyroid levels checked (blood test) to see if you may be having issues there... just a thought... Angie http://www.geocities.com/tiger_angie

What is the pill called? Ohhh I'm so nauseated for 2 months and have lost a whopping 50 pounds exactly, thanks to NOT eating.. *sigh* I need to let my doctor know. I started out at 228 BMI of exactly 40 and now down to 178. I feel this is too much too soon. I want to eat so bad but afraid too.

Topic: RE: Are you guys freezing?
YES! At first, I was getting the flu/cold. But this last week I've had the furnace on 70 degrees and am still cold! Also had to put another blanket on the bed. It didn't make sense to me until I saw this post - also it doesn't seem to make sense, because I'm still over 300 lbs (not for long, though.... whoo hoo!).

Topic: Sleeping problems...
Hi everyone, I was just wondering if anyone else if having problems getting to sleep? My schedule was messed up a few weeks ago because my husband's work schedule changed - but ever since then I just can't seem to get to sleep. Once I do, I sleep forever (like ten to thirteen hours - I typically need seven to eight) and wake up still feeling like I could sleep more. Throughout the day I am drained, but not tired, and if I try to take a nap I can't. I just can't seem to get to sleep. Its not a relaxation or thinking problem - and my eyes and head are tired but my body just doesn't seem to want to lay there (full of energy). Anybody else? I'm getting my vitamins on a clockwork schedule, my protein intake is fine and my water intake couldn't be better - so its nothing like that. I'm going on two weeks now of this new sleeping pattern and need to get back to a regular pattern because of work - so any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Rach -58

Topic: RE: Food Question
Good question!!! I've never even thought to ask it. You might want to get in touch with a place like GNC and ask them, they'd probably be able to tell you which, if any, protein drinks have caffine - and then you could probably apply that knowledge to all brands. If I had to venture a guess, I would say no - especially for like carb countdown chocolate milk - but again, its just a guess. I wonder if there might be anything on the web about it... if I find anything I'll let you know. Good luck with your question, Rachel -58

Yup Karla, You are not alone! I have the house temp sitting at 80 degrees right now and still have to sleep with three comforters and flannel sheets. Kind of my fault too, though, because I still need my fan for white noise - pleases the hell out of my husband! It is the first winter I can remember ever wanting a jacket (and wouldn't you know that I can't find an affordable one that fits!) Well, just think about how much better this is than being hot all the time (if you were - I know most of us were, anyway!). I'll definitely take this over being hot, its so much easier to warm up than cool down. And, I've heard this cold snap varies for different people - I've talked with a few postops three or four years out that still get cold easy. As they say, everyone's different... Take care, Rachel

b - packet of oatmeal made with milk l - 4 bites of chicken sandwhich d - 1 slice thin crust pizza and 2 wings s - 5 pringles & 2 pieces of chocolate mints I am forcing myself to submit this because it is so embarrassing. I can't believe how bad I am eating. I really need to take this surgery more seriously and make better food choices. I don't dump on sugar and ever since I found that out I have been sneaking in candy and donuts. Most people don't cheat like that until they are atleast 6 months out yet here I am at 9 1/2 weeks and I'm eating the volume of food someone does who is much, much farther out. Plus my choices stink. I hope everyone else is doing MUCH better. Patty 260/214/160
