I asked at a group meeting what our target protein intake should be. The nurse leading the program said "about 50 grams". The nutritionist for the same program had said about 60 some weeks previously. Maybe they all don't know either!
Where did the rule of thumb come from? It seems reasonable that the more you weigh the more protein you need ... I think ...

I had surgery the 26th also. Only about 40 lb down. But hey - almost four SIZES down! That's good, isn't it?

Dear Sandi.. I had my surgery on October 26th 2004.. I started at 289 and am now 2 months post op and weigh 235.. Everything is going very well.. Gettting enough protein in everyday is still a struggle.. But I know that everyday brings me closer to my goal.. I hope all is well with you and that you had a great Christmas.. Hope to hear from you.. Congrats on your loses..

My surgery was on the 18th of Oct. I'm down 61 pounds, and currently weight 325. How's everybody else doing so far???/

I'm still not getting enough protein. I should be getting over 90 grams at mny weight. I manage about 60 a day, and expect my hair will fall out soon.

B cup of cereal in 1% milk
S protein shake
L half of a small wendy's chilli
S 5 almonds
D half a cup of chicken soup
one cup hot tea with caffein
was low on water today maybe got in 10 oz total

How much protien are we suppose to be getting everyday? I am getting about 70 grams is that enough? Somebody please help. Thanks Mary

I've got the flu and I was subpeonaed (sp?) for a custoday case so I sat in a court room all day yesertday feeling like I could barf any minute. I managed to eat 3 peanutbutter crackers. And maybe 5 or 6 bites of homemade turkey soup when I got home. I only drank 24 oz of water, and had a small decaf coffee at court.
I lost 3 pounds since yesterday morning....not a good way to do it BUT I am now out of the 190's. I was shocked today when I got on the scale and was down to 187!! That was a nice surprise.
I don't think today will be much better for food - I feel terrible. Both of my kids have it now too....poor babies. I will try to drink more today though.

I had my WOW moment this past weekend - I was sitting chatting with my daughter, when I nonchalantly crossed my legs. And I mean WITHOUT picking up one leg with my hand and setting it on my other knee! Woopeeee! I shocked myself!
