Topic: RE: what is everyone eating and where
well I have been out several places but mainly stuck to soups with no problems. lately though I have been going out to mexican resturants more often. I have the childs soft taco meal with extra refried beans and no rice. I can also do the cheese dip very well and manage to eat only a few chips with it rather than my pre surgery three bowls of chips. I usually dont eat the taco shell but just the meat and cheese inside and the refried beans. I have had no trouble with any mexican resturant. Went to P.F. Changs and had the lettuce wraps without the lettuce with no problem and some scallops. dense meat seems to effect me for the worse, but hamburger goes down well. had 3/4 of a junior burger at wendy's last night with no difficulty.

Sorry to be so dumbfounded, but what is Nectar exactly? I have been struggeling to find protein that tastes great and have not found anything yet. Unflavored protein? Can that be mixed with different drinks?
Topic: 11 week update!
Hi,
I am 11 weeks postop. Down 55 pounds and have lost 44.25 inches. I am down to size 16-18 from size 22-24.
I have lots more energy now. I feel so much better than I did preop. I am able to bend and move easier. Today I shaved my legs in the shower and had NO trouble.
I am eating fine! I usually am pretty good about my protein and water. Today for breakfast I had a 2 egg omlet with cheese and real bacon bits for about 22g of protein. Later I will have some Salmon and veggies for lunch. I will probably have some yogurt with ground flax seed and some carb countdown chocolate milk today also. Don't know what I will eat for dinner yet. I am getting in my vitamins. I am noticing I need to help my skin and hair out though. I have added the flax seeds and am taking biotin also to hopefully help. I am able to have an occational treat, like yesterday I ate a fun sized reeses! It felt fine in my tummy. I don't eat many things with sugar or high carbs, but I do have them occationally. Luckily my tastes have changed post op and I don't really crave junk food much. Now I crave things like salad and oranges. I have had some salad, but can't eat alot. I have been eating alot of those clementine oranges lately also. One will fill me up, but it tastes sooooo good. I am also craving bananas, but haven't tried one yet. I ate some raisin bran a few days ago because it sounded good. I only got about 5-6 bites in and was STUFFED, but it stayed down and tasted good. I am still not able to eat much bread or pastas and rices (only a few bites here and there).
I hope everyone else is having a great day!

I went to Joe's crab shack and got the kids meal fish and chips.didn't eat 1/2 of it but a 3.99 kids meal is better than 9.99 "grown up" meal.Of corse the good old stand by Wendy's chili is always good.I tryed a soft taco at the bell but it was a BIG NO NO!!!

David,
I don't like the nector either. I have tried Pro Line Elite in butter cream toffee and love it with coffee. I also bought a Magic Bullet, and it's wonderful! It mixed the protein up well with ice, and you can't taste it!
I just found a place that sells 5 pounds containers for 24.99!!!!!!!!!!! Orders over 50.00 ship free! Yahooooo

Topic: RE: Different Stokes for Different Folks:
I noticed the same thing. I've only recently found a way to tolerate the taste of protein powder...... and not too soon..... my hair is realy starting to come out.
But I've noticed a real difference now that I can. I feel better, and think I'm losing better.

Topic: Different Stokes for Different Folks:
I have noticed by the posts that I read that diet varies from person to person, and different Dr's have different instructions. Some seem to drink protein drinks, I am thinking about adding them simply because I am afraid that I don't get enough protein. I notice that for the most part that eating out doesn't have the same enjoyment as before the surgery. It is had to try and figure out where I can eat. Has anyone had any problems trying to use their meal cards? I haven't had the opportunity to use my card yet. I enjoy eating at Taco Bell. I can tolerate foods that are hot and spicy. I do good with splenda, as a sweetener. I can eat salad greens with no complications, have had Spaghetti, and Raman Noodles. I have had some problems with eating to fast and that causes the food to come up. I have not yet had a dumping, and if I can help it will do what i can to avoid it, I found some Sugar free Chocalate syrup at Walmart that is sweetened with Sucralose, and Sorbital, I can tolerate high fructose corn syrup. Some Dr's say no soda's My Dr said that they were ok if I would pour it over ice and let it sit for about five to ten minutes before drinking. It is a new ball game learning what and what not that my body will tolerate.
Topic: RE: taco bell?
I have had nothing but good experiences with Taco Bell. I am able to eat a crunchy taco supreme, or part of a taco salad. I haven't tried the soft taco's yet but mabe next time I go I will. I can eat the potatoes, with cheese, and I tolerate lettuce very well I am able to eat salad greens with no problems. I use the hot sauce. I have always liked hot and spicy foods and since my surgery my taste, and toleration of hot sauce has improved. I can eat jalepeno's, and cayenne pepper.
