B - Low Carb Speacial K with skim milk and blueberries
L - 1 breaded, baked chicken leg, 1/2 c mashed potatoes
S - 10 oz skim milk
D - Smart Ones Roast Beef with broccoli (Low Carb)
Had 2 protien drinks, 10 oz decaf tea. fluids were about 60 oz total.
810 cal, 30 fat, 63 carbs, 79 protein. Too much fat and carbs, - I ate the skin from the chicken...and the potatoes always throw my carbs way over. But I am so proud of myself for getting in so much prtoien AND more than 20 oz fluid! I did go to Curves today...three days in a row with the excercise!!!!
The Smart Ones meal I ate had 26 protein!!! It was the perfect size and I ate every bite. It was one of the new "Truth About Carbs" ones. I am not impressed with the chicken ones...but the beef ones are good - especially the Salisbury Steak. YUM!

Scottsdale Bariatric Center Albuquerque Visit
Saturday January 22nd ,2005
Dear Scottsdale Bariatric Patient,
We are excited to be coming to Albuquerque, New Mexico on Saturday, January 22, 2005 to hold a free weight-loss seminar for the public. The seminar will take place from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at the Sheraton Old Town Hotel, 800 Rio Grande Blvd NW, in the Potters Room. The purpose of this seminar is to educate potential patients about Bariatric surgery. According to a recent study in The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) weight loss surgery improved or eliminated diabetes, hypertension, obstructive sleep apnea and high cholesterol in morbidly obese patients. We will be available to answer questions they may have to help them determine if surgery is the right option for them. We encourage you to tell any friends or family members that are suffering from morbid obesity to take the first step and attend the seminar.
Please have them contact Dawn, Patient/Physician Liaison at 1-800-504-9567 to register for the free weight-loss surgery seminar.
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you,
Dawn Remme, SBC
Patient/Physician Liaison

Topic: WLS Death
This was posted on the MS board:
For those of you who knew her, Hughlene Gray, a patient of Dr Blakes, died Monday from malnutrition and complications from the surgery. Please say a prayer for her family.

She had been in the hospital since the day of her surgery. She had been there for at least 6 mos (I think) ---I think she had a bad surgeon who didnt really take care of her. This doctor has since disappeared and left half of his patients hanging. I am glad though that he is no longer doing this surgery. I have alot of friends who were going to use him because he was the only one who would take voc rehab.
I just want to express to everyone how IMPORTANT it is to take care of ourselves. TAKE YOUR SUPPLEMENTS - GET IN YOUR PROTEIN - AND DRINK YOUR WATER... Just do it!
I dont want to lose any of yall...

Topic: RE: AM i EATING TOO MUCH?
I'm so glad you posted this because I have been totally feeling the same way. I can eat a whole taco, funny you should use that because I ate a taco last night then tonight put egg&bean in a tortilla. Then today for lunch I ate about 3/4 or alittle less of a lean cuisine. Mind you it had some chicken chuncks about 10 or so and then spinich but sometimes I don't know if I should be able to eat that much. Anywho. I'm right there with ya, confusted.

Good Going Sheryl. It is so odd, how our brains take time to catch up. From what I have read, that can take quite some time, like a year or so! Try to enjoy it! Congratulations!
