Topic: RE: 3 Months Post OP!!!
To update on me -- I have lost 71 lbs. so far. Wednesday will be my 4 month update ...
People at work are really noticing, and all of my clothes are way too big now. I am gonna have to buy some new ones. In a hurry I stopped at Wal-Mart tonight to get a sweat shirt -- and I just grabbed a 22/24. (Had worn 26/28 prior to surgery or 30/32) The 18 just didnt look big enough.
Well, I got home and put it on, and it just hung on me. Its too big!! I went ahead and wore it -- hoping it will shrink some when I wa****
I am eating better .. feeling lots better .. and also have alot more energy. What used to take me probably at least 15 minutes to walk, at work, is now only taking 4-5 minutes. And I am not huffing and puffing.
This is GREAT! I am happy with my progress as well. What about the rest of you?

Topic: RE: protein shake?
Try adding a few strawberries or half a banana, blend with ice chips. I really love my protein shakes!! (maybe I am weird)
Adding the unflavored protein is a great idea and ups your protein intake!! Thats not cheating, its smart!

Topic: 3 Months Post OP!!!
Hi,
I am updating. I have lost 62 pounds. Tomorrow is my 3 month anniversary. I am feeling so much better these days.
I have lost enough weight that people at work are really noticing now. I have a lot more energy also.
I got a little GUNG HO! with exercise though. I think I gave myself shin splints in my right leg. I had been taking the stairs at work several times a day and last week I really over did it. Now my shin area on my leg hurts when I walk UGH!!!!! I am using an ace bandage to support it. I hope it heals soon.
I am eating alot better now also. I don't really keep careful track of my eating lately though. I eat mostly protein. I eat chicken, beef, fish, nuts, beans, cheese, yogurt, and eggs, and I am also now able to eat a small bit of salad and veggies and a tiny bit of fruit. I don't do breads or cereal or rice well yet. It makes my tummy still feel sickly. I can eat very very small amounts, but I do try to stay away from them mostly. I drink a ton of water and some sugar free fruity drinks like crystal light and Fuse. I don't really drink any protein drinks now because I HATE them.
I am pretty happy with my progress so far.
Thanks everyone!

Topic: Time for a fill???
This is my first post here. I think it is wonderful to be able to see how people in the same time frame as I am are doing. I am questioning whether or not it is time for my first fill. I also seem to be at a plateau, and over the last three weeks, I haven't lost at all. I had surgery on 10/14, and I am down 45 pounds. I have also been exercising pretty regularly, but during the last couple of weeks, I have really stepped it up. Yet the scale won't move. The thing is, I sometimes have great restriction, and sometimes it is like the band isn't even there. I still throw up sometimes, especially with certain meats, and bread products. So what do you all think? Is it time?
Topic: protein shake?
I cheat on my shake.... I use a protein shake mix (20 gm. protein) and add another scoop of unflavored protein from GNC(20 more gma) and mix w/8 oz. of water.
UMMMMM... taste like watered down milk of magnesia!!

I had RNY on October 18, 2004 3 days later an obstruction and second surgery, then finally home after 10 days in Hospital. I was home 3 days and couldnt breathe....Massive pulmonary Emboli.....5 more days in Hospital and then home for a month, then I got pneumonia.... 3 more days in Hospital....Please take care of yourselves! Topic: I'm in favor of making this board rock!
Hi all! I'm in favor of making this board rock!!!
I fairly new to the site but think that the information I've already gleened from here is awesome.
I live in Alexandria Virginia and am looking forward to getting to know all my October buddies better! Together we can make this a HUGE success!

Topic: RE: Come on people!
With our lifestyle (Retired and full time RVers) I never get to make it to support meetings. I rely on this board for support and I am glad to see what others are doing. My doctor told me once never to compare weight loss with other patients as each of us lose differently, BUT I can't help myself!! I get busy if I see others are losing and I am not, and I definitely think thats a plus, especially when I hit those lazy days!
My plateau continues.... but I am hanging in there!!
