Hello to all Congratulations on everyones great weight loss! I'm just over 3 months out, down 57 lbs. and been wearing size 20 for a couple of weeks and they are getting bigger by the week Wahoo! I have been walking and a little weight/strenght training, but today I started back in Tae Kwon Do, I had my 1st class tonight with my 6 yr old daughter (it's cool that we can workout together)! It went really well and I still feel good (it didnt kill me). I had been a high green belt before I just got to heavy to continue working out, it was just much. Now I'm down less than what I was when I 1st started TKD. A lot of new faces but still the same awesome workout! I'm hoping by going back to TKD it will help me reach my personal goal, I know the surgery will only do so much and WE have to make the rest happen. I plan to keep walking and strenght training along with my TKD. (wish me luck that I can keep up). I guess my WOW monment this month was when I went out to the store the other day and grabed my DH jacket (XL) off the back of the chair and could not only wear it but zip it up! I dont think he liked it as much as I did. LOL... Good Luck and keep up the great work!!! Sherrie 278/221/145ish 10.12.04 Start of my new healthier life!

Congtrats to all on your weight loss! I to just recently past my three month mark. I have lost 77lbs. I am so excited to se the scale moving in a downward direction instead of up. I am filling my 2nd garbage bag of clothes now. I have to put away clothes about every 2 weeks because they are to baggy. I looking forward to my next milestone of the 100lbs loss. I actually bought clothes a "The Limited for Men" for the first time in my life. The kid who rang me must have thought I was an idiot for as excited as I was over a couple of $10 sweaters. Oh well. It was cool. Looking forward to this summer. I plan to visit a couple of amusement parks since I will actually fit in to the seats now. I am very happy with my progess. Thanks Robert 337/260/195

Hello Christine, I also only get to one meeting a month with a local support group, which I really enjoy, but my surgeon is not involved with this group. I had my surgery in St. Louis Mo. and I live about 4 hours from there, so I don't make it to there groups. I do still hope to get to one sometime in the future. I also use the main board and the Missouri board more than the Oct. 2004 board. I had my surgery 10.12.04. I'm down -57lbs. and 2 sizes on pants. I have been walking and tonight I started back in Tae Kwon Do. It went really well, better than I thought! I'm hoping that with continuing walking and working out in my TKD class 2 times a week for 45-60 min. this will help me continue to my personal goal of 145ish... My eating is not too good the last couple of days, just not hungery..even have to tell myself to eat (whats up with that LOL). But I have been getting my protein and fluids so I okay with that. I hope everyone is doing great and lets all keep our heads high and stay focused on our WLS journey. Good Luck! Sherrie 278/221/145ish -57 lbs 10.12.04 Start to my new healthier life!!

GREAT thread - congratulations to ALL of us!!!! I'm down 48 pounds since surgery, 66 total. I finally went out and bought some new clothes last night. I mainly wear excercise clothes all day since I am home with the kids, and usually go out to Curves at night. Well, I was at the pharmacy the other day and someone asked when my baby was due. My clothes are SO big - I bought some new "jogging suit" type outfits. Here is a WOW moment htough - about 2 months ago, I was shopping and tried on a new winter coat size XL and it was snug, but I could zip it. Well, I figured for $40, I could wait....who knows what size I will be next year....why waste the money. Well, last night I was in the same store and the coat was on sale for only $19.99....so I grabbed an XL, tried it on and it was still snug but looks so much better than my size 2X I am wearing. I bought it, brought it home and tried it on for hubby - THEN I notice the tag on the inside of the coat....size LARGE. I grabbed, what I thought was, the wrong size......so I am wearing a plain old size L. I also bought some new bras and undies since mine were....well..you all know the story. Its nice to wear a bra that fits now! And to top it off, when I walked into Curves tonight, the manager walked up behind me asking "Can I help you", which I thought was odd since I am there every day...when I turned around, she said "OMG its you - I totally didn't recognize you from the back at all" Of course, I was in my new coat which actually FITS and doesn't make me look 3 sizes bigger........these are the types of things that get me motivated!!! I'll tell ya'...I had a killer workout after that! Jenn 232/184/140

Hey Christine - I use the Amino Infusion 5000 - you can either take staright shots, like medicine, or mix it with water. 1 tbsp = 5 gr protein. I mix 6 tbsp with 16 oz water and I have no problem getting that down - it doesn't taste medicainal, or like protein drink...its mild, not wicked sweet (although its very sweet if you take it straight). I had such huge issues with the protein drinks right after surgery. The Amino Infusion has saved me. I thought maybe I was over the whole "gag" thing, so I recently tried to make a Nectar shake and the smell of it made me dry heave. So i have 2 big buckets of the crap I bought pre-op LOL What a waste. Anyway - the Amino is a little strong to take it straight - but if you have a hard time, its easy enough to swallow one tbsp at a time! I like to mix mine iwth the water so it forces me to get that 16 oz of liquid in. Some days, that was the only liquids I got! Lately, I have been craving milk. I drink about 10 - 20 oz a day, I think. And I have tried soda too - I do ok, I stirred it up (I always did that though I LOVE flat Diet Coke) but I was so nervous about it, it wasn't worth it. Anway - I am always watchign to see who asks about protein drninks since mine was such a good solution for me. JEnn

I am 3 months post op also--I am -70 lbs. I feel so much better. My clothes are really to big, but I am still holding off on buying new ones. It is hard to imagine that only 3 months ago I was at my heaviest weight and in 3 short months, I am back at the weight I was 6-7 years ago. I pray for everyone on this message board, and please keep me in your prayers. Lets all keep up the excellent work! Nichelle 10/20/2004 325/255/150

Hey Ladie - busy day with the kids and didn't have much time to get online. I had a great day - really watched my food and only ate 3 meals...not a single snack PLUS I went to Curves. I played hard with the kids and I put a good CD on and danced around with them for over an hour. Not only did I get a great workout, the kids thought I was the coolest thing going, letting them rock out in the kitchen and run around singing at the top of our lungs!!! I just came of a plateau where I stayed the same for a little over 3 weeks. I finally dropped a couple of pounds, but here I am, a week later and I am the same. This weekend was rough - being snowed in, I ate TOO much junk. Since I don't dump, it was easy to reach for those comfort foods. I feel so much better today since I ate good and excercised yesterday and today.....now I just have to keep it up. Have a great night!! Jenn
