Hey Christine, I had surgery 10-26-04 and I have lost 39#'s. I go for my 3 month check up on Friday. I am kinda scared about what the doc might say to me. I have been doing everything correctly, except the exercise. I really need to get my butt in gear.

I had my surgery on Ocotber 25, 2004. So far, I have lost about 60 pounds. I was 363 at the time of my surgery. My doctor says that my progress is steady. I feel like I should have lost more. My problem is the nutritionist that workd with him. I was told to just get a South Beach Diet book to help me plan my menus. I need to know from someone else what their doctor prescribed. I don't know how many carbs or how much protein to eat. I wonder if I am eating too much or not enough some days. Does anyone have a menu plan from their doctor or nutritionist that can help me?

Sounds yummy... Once a week I go get all my stuff for the next week so I will have it on hand.
I havent seen those lattes here. Maybe soon. Have you tried the Body For Life Low Carb Coffee Shakes.. THey are pretty good too...

I know what you mean. I miss eating sandwiches. I dont eat bread alot because of the carbs but I do on occasion. It is one of those temptations that could fail me at this surgery. I limit it. It doesnt bother me to eat it though.

My water stunk today... I have only had about 30 ounces.
I bought 2 pounds of crawfish and me and my daughter ate them. From the best I can tell from the internet... 1 pound makes about 3.5 ounces of actual edible meat. So I guestimated that I had about 5 ounces or so.
Today I went to get gas and walked in the store to pay and FUNYUNS were staring me in the face. I picked them up and a regular grab bag of funyuns had 45 CARBS and 350 empty calories in them. I put them back down and grabbed a beef jerky! I am so proud of me for not being weak to them funyuns...

I agree with everyone. I see a difference but it does not seem that much to me. People say oh you are getting skinny. Hey folks I am still 260 lbs and skinny I am not! I guess they think it is cute but when said in front of people you do it know it is kind of embarassing.
When I go somewhere to shop, I still go to the very end of the rack where the largest clothes are kept. Even when I try clothes on that are a smaller size I think "Oh this must be mismarked". Or hold it up and say "this will never fit" and it does.
I guess my mind will eventually catch up with my body. It sure is exhausting to make several trips from the rack to the dressing room to find the right size.

Thanks for this post...it made me smile. It also helped me to realize that I should be counting that as a wow moment! I didn't think I'd had one yet. BUT...the other day - I thought I was losing my mind. I just couldn't get comfy in bed. It felt like big bones knocking together at the knees. I was trying to sleep on my side (like I have for years). I just couldn't stand those knee bones. I've also found the sheets bunched up under me to be uncomfortable!! I use to be able to sleep on the remote and not notice. Everyone keeps telling me I look like I'm losing weight - I can't see it. But thanks to this post I guess there is no denying it. Thanks!!

hi how are you the doctor told me he woulnt care if i never ate bread again i miss bread rolls bun biscuts so bad for breakfast i ate a half of a egg for lunch a few strings of noodles for snacks i eat pumpkin seeds when i think i am hungry

I agree with Christine that you are you doing fine! From everythnig I have read that is right among the averages. I also have learned that the more you have to lose the faster it comes off...in the beginning that is. So for me, I started at 383 and amd down 60 poundsish.
Keep up the good work....you are doing AWESOME!!!

I can see the difference in my neck, shoulders and face, but most of what I see on the rest of my body are the saggy baggies. Not very pretty. I'm losing from the top down.
