B- decaf tea
L - tried a Smart Ones - some beef one and it was gross. I maybe ate .5 beef and 1/4 c veggies from it. Ended up eating 1/2 slice banana bread and 3 or 4 potato chips out of my daughter's snack bowl.
S - 10 oz skim milk, 2 oz cheddar cheese
D - 2 oz chicken, 1/2 c mixed veggies from homemade chicken pot pie.
S - 1/2 c steamed spinach
Fluids - about 40 oz. Not very good.
Getting very annoyed a****ching that darned scale not move. I have been playing within the same 3 pounds for over one month!!

Oh 60 pounds is awesome! I am only down 45 pounds - I have not lost anything in a month! Anyway - my nutritionist says: protein first - 2 oz. then some green veggies if there is room - about 1/4 c. Then fruit, if there is room...and lastly, carbs. I am supposed to stay away from soups, stews, casseroles...anything that mixes liquid with my food, or that I can't accurately measure how much protein I am getting. I think my dr and nutritionist seem a bit more strict than most. Its been hard to stay away from soups...and I have started eating cereal - but its high protein (better than yogurt) and fiber, which I really needed. I am also only supposed to be eatingmy 3 meals a day NO snacking. That is hard - I get hungry and have a snack here and there - I try to just have skim milk as a snack.

Christine,
I think you are doing a wonderful job. We all lose at different stages and amounts. I know how you feel though, because I use to try and find someone who had the surgery the same day I did and compare weight loss. Don't do that, you'll only set yourself up. Everyone is differnt. I think you've done a WONDERFUL job. Or look at it this way.......when was the last time that you've lost 41 pounds in only 3 1/2months..........exactly.
Keep up the good work . Take care of yourself and your family.

Great job everybody. Wow - You guys are amazing.
I started this whole journey last March in my cardiolgists office. I hadn't weighed for a long time since I couldn't find a scale to use. That day I weighed in at 440 pounds. He recommended the surgery and on June 12th I went to my first meeting about the surgery. I had to lose weight to even get an appointment with my surgeon since my BMI was too much. I lost and my pre surgery weight was 360 pounds. I lost 80 pounds before surgery and have lost 76 since the surgery on October 19th. I have been walking since June and in November I joined the local YMCA and go there 5 to 6 times a week.
I really like the idea of this board, and since I found it, I plan to keep checking in here. Thanks for all the encourgement and motivating words.

My Wow moment after always having to stand in my bosses office because I could not even come close to sitting in her side chairs. Not only can I sit, and I can sit comfortably. Yeah!
Great Post.

Well done on avoiding the Funyuns!!!! I must admit from the get go I had a bad encounter with 50% reduced fat Pringles. Probably ate a servings worth! UGH!
Other than the Pringles "incident" I had today:
Slim Fast Low Carb Protien Shake (20 grams protien)
Gyro meat (about 3 ounces) and some feta cheese and lettuce. (Yes, the inside of a gyro sandwich.
Atkins Bar - 15 grams protien
2 ounces of ham that I sauted in crushed pinapple.
1/4 cup mixed nuts
Wat hit about 50 ounces today. Need to get better about that H2O.
Bye all!!!

Hi Victoria!
First let me say, 60 pounds is awesome!!!! Be proud of yourself. Today is my 3 month surgical anniversary and I'm down about 62 pounds....so, being that we are a day apart and everyone is telling me I'm doing great then I can only say...so are you!!!!
As for suggestions. My nutritionist is pretty good. Basically....protien, protien, protien and veggies and fruit as you can tolerate. She states that we should get about 60 - 80 grams of protien a day. She gave us a great notebook too. If you want more specific information feel free to email me and I will see how I can help. Keep up the good work!!!

Topic: RE: Body Image???
Wow, it seems like we are all thinking the same thing. I have been having some bad days. Very blue, wishing I was losing faster. Wishing I could see what everyone else was seeing.
I was on another board, and heard a great idea. To take a picture of yourself today and hold it up to your before picture, and compare it. I am going to try it. I think it is a great idea.

Hi Christine, I think you are doing fine. Are you exercising regularly? I agree, that the more you have to lose, the faster it will come off at first. My surgery weight was 360 and I have lost 76 pounds. I go to the YMCA 5 - 6 times a week. I really think this has helped.
