Topic: 1.Dizziness? & 2.protein grams?
posted this on the main board, but wanted to check with those who also had surgery about the same time .... Has anyone else recently started to experience dizziness - even while sitting??? Do you know what is causing it? On the main board, folks said it can be from not enough water, low iron, not enough protein, not enough food altogether, some medications.... Though I was drinking more water today. Does anyone know if it is ever caused by blood pressure either high or low? (- have wondered about that). Also- my dietician told me that recommended protein is based on your goal weight (she used a formula/calculation). I was told to eat 50-60 grams per day and had a 200 cm bypass. I've heard others needed up to triple that amount with distals. How many grams of protein were you told to get in per day and what type of surgery type &/or amount bypassed did you have? Don't want to find out 5-10 years from now I'm not getting enough protein in - though I hope 50-60 is enough because some days that amount of protein intake is repulsive. The color of this ====> reminds me of today's favorite protein - Nectar green apple (Said today's fave, because it may go the path as others - good one day, intolerable the next - have at least 7 jugs of protein in the kitchen - some that don't taste good any more or NEVER did) thanks ! 370/286/150-160------------Adios -84 big ones!! HOW bout a weigh in??

I can eat about 1/2 a scrambled egg before the tast starts to bother me. I can eat both halves of a deviled eag but not that often. Most of the time I make a one egg salad, I get most of that down before the tast turns on me. Barbara

Hi Pam, I have heard of sometimes drinking too fast, and if the water is cold--that your stomach/band(whatever)contracts and won't let it in. Then after--it becomes the finicky band. Not always-as you can see being 4 mos out. I don't think there is always a ryme or reason--but I think what happened to you has definetly happened to others. Stay well@! Joan F

I was in Wal-Mart today with my daughter. I grabbed a pair of jeans and told her to wait on me while I tried them on. I knew they wouldn't fit, I just wanted to see how far I had to go before I could buy jeans at Wal-Mart (something I've never been able to do). Imagine my surprise when I pulled them past my knees, my thighs, my tummy and right up to my waist. I just stood there and looked at myself and as I looked into the mirror, I saw a silly little grin come on my face. Yes, I bought them. CE

Topic: RE: Intro & Questions for you all
I love reading about how you all are doing. So I guess I'll start by saying "Shirlene thanks for the posting". I had surgery on Oct. 12th - starting weight was 294. This morning the scale said 206 - 88 pounds gone forever. I can't wait to see the first digit change to a 1. I haven't weighed in under 200 in so long I feel like I'm living in a dream. Started out in a tight 26/28 and 3X. Now comfy in an 18 jean (not the elastic kind - the zip and button jeans are back!) Tried on a 16 jean the other day and they were still too tight to claim - but I got them on (then got all teary eyed - happy tears). The shirts are still kinda big - 1X or XL if I buy new, but I can easily wear a 2X because I've always had extra on top. My hair is falling out at an alarming rate! Scary stuff because it is long and is going to take forever to grow back in. My hair has been one of my best features for so long I haven't had the heart to consider a cut. My doctor keeps telling me that I won't be bald - I pray that he knows what he is talking about. He says it will stop - but won't make any promises about when. It's been coming out for 2 months now! My protein intake is not what it should be so I blame myself for the hair. As for the being satisfied on so little food - I have highs and lows with this one. Mostly I love it, I can be really full with very little food. However, since my husband and I have always eaten out on a regular basis, I struggle with ordering. I feel kind of funny asking the server to just bring an empty plate so I can steal from my hubby and kids! The truth is, that's mostly what I want. But sometimes I really miss having a big meal of good (tastes good but bad for you) food, that I love - that now makes me sick! Bottom line is I wouldn't trade one big meal for even one pound of what I've lost. Overall - I feel like I have a new life. Wishing you all the best, Karla

Hello Rhonda, What is PCOS? I've seen it mentioned several times but I don't have a clue what it is. Barbara
