Congrats on your 4th month update! Keep up the good work! To help with constipation, try eating alot of fruit i.e., apples, applesauce, strawberries, & watermelon. It helps me kinda stay regular. See if it'll help.

Thank you Patty! I am really surprised at this weight loss myself. I feel like I am going to wake up sometime and find it was all a dream. It is so strange to feel bones where there used to be only FAT! I have should bones and hip bones appearing! My FEET look all boney and so do my fingers. This is so amazing!

Don't be jealous! It looks like you are doing fine. I know the scale is very frustrating at times. Just remember you didn't put it all on overnight or even in 4 months....It isn't going to come off overnight either. Just keep following your doc's plan. I have read alot of profiles and many WLS patients lose slower or have plateaus. You will do fine in the long run! Good Luck to you!

Hi,
Got on the scale today. I am down to 173 pounds. I have lost a total of 76 pounds. My BMI has gone from 42.7 to 29.7 and I am only OVERWEIGHT now! I used to be morbidly obese. I am sooo sooo happy! I haven't been this small in over 20 years. I don't remember when I was a "normal" BMI or weight. I don't remember when I could buy clothes at a "normal" store.
I am feeling alot healthier now. I can cross my legs comfortably now. I can walk up all 5 flights of stairs at work without wanting to lay down after 2 or 3. I can walk and walk and not feel sore and tired. I sleep easier and I am not so tired.
I can eat basically anything I want and I don't have to count calories, fats, carbs or really anything. I just focus of eating protein first and drinking lots of water. I am able to finally get all my vitamins down also. I am still only able to eat small portions and everything taste different now. I don't crave the same things anymore usually. Occationally I crave something sweet but usually just a bite or two will satisfy. Usually I take a bite and realize I really don't enjoy it so much anymore. I crave fruits and salads more often now than anything. Today I was craving Cheerio's! That is what I had for breakfast. I get all my protein from food and don't have to drink any protein shakes anymore (which I HATED ANYHOW!)
The big thing that bothers me right now is Hemmerhoids! UGH!!! I get a little constipated from the iron I am getting in my multivitamins (I think!) I am trying to increase my fiber and liquids. I am also taking a stool softener to help. I HOPE I don't have to have surgery for them.

before stats:
weight: 260
height: 5'7"
BMI: 40.7 (morbidly obese)
After stats:
weight: 193
height: 5'7"
bmi: 30.2 (obese)
I am 2 lbs away from being overweight. I am guessing that should take 1 - 2 weeks but it is very exciting. :0)
