Barbara, I too have noticed "things" are shifting on my body, kind of interesting to watch. I was getting in the shower the other day and reached for the soap on a upper shelf I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and could actually make out the outline of a few ribs! I have not seen that in years! Janice, I am also enjoying the compliments from others and recently at my daughters soccer game ran into some women I had not seen in a year so they were real surprised and complimentary of my new size.

Hi Shawnde, I am at 98 pounds lost and have about the same 60 pounds left. Isn't this a great ride? I'm so happy I had this surgery. I've had NO complications, I'm healthier than I've been in years, and I feel like a new woman, inside and out. Congratulations to you. Best Wishes, Carmella

Hey everyone, I am not in the century club yet either but not worried a bit about it. I have lost 74 lbs total (15 pre-op). I didn't take measurements but know that I have gone from a 2-3x down to (YIPPEE) bought a size large fleece coat over the weekend to finish out the winter/early spring in. I have not worn a size large since I was in my very late teens/early twenties. I am excercizing 4-5 times per week, doing the "Walk Away the Pounds Express" 3 mile aerobic walk. I feel fabulous. Will I have some saggy skin - yep, but hopefully with the slower loss rate, not as much if I lost it really fast. I had my doc appointment last week and he was extremely pleased with my results so far. So I don't get discouraged, we are all in this to make the best results possible for our health and no matter how much we lose and how fast it comes off, our health and quality of life will be so much better than it was before. Hi! Well, I'm in the century club but not all because of the surgery. Surgery date Oct 14, 04, lost 80lbs. Weight 310lbs when journey began, wt day of surgery 276, current weight 203, from size 26/28 to an 18. When you read profiles, maybe some people count their total weight loss, I know I do. I lost over 25lbs before surgery, got down to 276lbs day of surgery and still losing. If you start worry about how much weight you have not loss you will drive yourself nuts! Maintain your diet instructions from your nutritionist, make sure you get all your vitamins and protein in first. Be sure you're doing some kind of exercise, i.e., walking is a good one. The weight will come off and you will hit plateaus sometimes, I know I do, I just don't worry about it. Grateful for the weight I have lost. Make sure you drink plenty of water. Do not drink sodas or carbonated drinks they will stretch your pouch. Hang in there! You're one of us. Remember everybody is different, we all gained weight differently and we all lose it differently. Also, if you're exercising, you gaining muscle and muscle shows on the scale, look at inches, your clothing changes, not your weight. Don't compare yourself with anyone but you. We're proud of you - Look what you have accomplished. This is not an easy way out to lose weight, its hard to meet and do all the daily requirements such as nutrition and exercise. I know. Change the way you think, look at your weight loss in a different light and you will agree!

Sigh...I am one of the slow losers but I'm getting there. I agree that there are some advantages of losing "slowly". My surgeon said that the slow losers were much more likely to keep the weight off than the fast losers. I always think about that when I get sad because my 4 wls surgery friends, who all went into surgery the same week that I did, danced into the century club over 2 months ago. Best to you Kolla Before pre-op diet -> 304 Day of surgery -> 282 Today -> 212 Goal -> 140
