Thank you so much for your post, I had my surgery on October 19th and I am losing so much hair especially since my 2nd fill in late Feb. I also have very thick hair and really no one would notice but my bathroom floor tells the truth. I have taken to wearing my hair braided or at least up in a ponytail so I won't be dropping hair all over. Now what is this Biotin you mentioned?

My 6 month was April 5th also....I am down 72#....have never felt better! It is 1/2 of what the charts say I need to lose, but I would be thrilled with 50 more pounds!
I am starting to look a little like a Shar-Pei (sp?), thought....my son loves to play with my baggy arm skin!
What a blessing this surgery has been for me!

Topic: My surgery was Oct. 7, 20...
My surgery was Oct. 7, 2004. In mid-January I started losing hair by the handfuls.
It has continued to fall out very rapidly for 3 months now. Fortunately, I have thick hair but I can tell a BIG differnce in the amount of hair left on my head. Today, I went for a trim (what's left is still growing
) and my hairdresser said "Girl, you have got a lot of new growth coming in! She's an
! It is thin at the ends but she said thicker than ever at the very root.
I have been taking 3000 mcg Biotin everyday and try to make sure I get my protein. No special shampoos except for the shampoo I use for the dry scalp I have developed from cutting out so much fat.
The moral of the story is - It comes back....Hallelujah

Girl i am proud of you. Some people would give in and say just this once and then the snowball effect. Stand by your guns and if your husband doesnt respect you on this then he probably lacks respect in other aspects of your life.
My boyfriend is very supportive of my decisions as food goes. He weighs 160 pounds and doesnt need to lose any but he eats the healthy foods that i cook without a complaint and drinks the drinks made with splenda etc. he loved me when i was 330 and now at 240 he lets me know how proud he is of me.
I promise you that there is someone out there that will respect you for you and your life decisions. Just hang in there.
see ya

Raising Hand -
Here!
I'll be six months out on the 27th, and I've lost 80 pounds. Like you're all saying, the weight loss has slowed, but I'm very happy to be drown from a size 24 to a size 14 (I even have a pair of size 12 slacks I can wear, because they have the all-around elastic waist.)
My blood pressure and cholesterol are completely normal now, with no medication. I love that!
Now, if I could only have caffeine, I'd have a lot more energy... ;)
Topic: My marriage couldn't take the weight-loss
Well, my marriage is over. I have been trying to make a new life for myself regarding food for the last 6 months but my husband just isn't about to let me. He constantly tries to feed me. He is obese himself but doesn't even want to consider the surgery. I asked him not to bring sweets to our home as a respect to me and my lifestyle change. About 3 months after surgery I started to find chocolate wrappings and empty biscuit boxes around the house. It was from his binge eating and he didn't even try to hide them from me. When I complained about this he just shrugged it off and told me all we needed was to go out for a nice dinner to solve our problems. He still uses food to comfort himself, me and to forget about problems. I could just scream!!!
I finally had enough and I am moving out. I am going to live with my mother for some time and there is a good chance that I will never go home again.
What about your spouses? How are they taking this?

Sixth month anniversary coming on the 26th,
*surgery- 326, sz. 26-28
*now-227, sz. 18-20
*goal- 155- im 5'8, the clothing issue is killing me, my hair loss is a neusiance, i dont seem to have the motivation for style any more. Its lucky that i even wear makeup still, i do go tan, i cut my hair shorter to help with the loss, but its agrevating. I am used to longer hair and dressing my best when getting out of the house. Any body else having these?
Topic: RE: Quick Question
I've not been a number cruncher either, when it comes to that. They never stressed us doing that -- in my nutrition training, or by the surgeon. So I just eat what I can, and stop when I get full. I try not to get too much sugars or carbs ... other than that, I don****ch anything yet.
I am 6 months out too -- well, a little over that now ....
