Topic: The big day past me by...
I've been suck at a 96-98 pound loss for so long I had just about given up! I hadn't lost a pound in over a month so I had become convinced that my weight loss was as good as it was going to get. I have a terrible habit of getting on the scale every time I go in the bathroom. So everyday I would be disappointed - it was even worse when I'd get on line and read about so many of you that had joined the century club!!! Well, I got so down about my slowed weight loss that I gave up... about a week ago I stopped getting on that mean ol' scale. Well, today I found the nerve and stepped on. To my surprise I have now lost 104 pounds! So my big day (of reaching 100 pounds gone) came and went and I didn't even know it. Of course I got on and off that scale about 10 times - and then went over to a friend's and tested her scale, just to confirm the 104 number. But it's official - I've made it - and now I'm praying that I'm going to continue to lose. I started at 294, currently 190, had hoped to get to 130.
Wishing you all the best,
Karla

I have lost 84 pounds to date - I had my surgery Oct. 19th 2004 - 253 down to 169 (goal of around 130-ish).
I have started to slow down the last few weeks, but I am still feeling awesome!
I have a new pic that I've asked them to post so hopefully that will happen soon - the one that is shown here is from a couple of months ago.
You gals have all done fabulously!!!! Way to go & thank you so much for your inspiration!!!!

I also had my surgery in October 2004 so I am 6 months out. I also worried about the same thing regarding the quantity of food. I definitely can eat a lot more then before and a lot of different types of food as well. I have my next appt. with my surgeon in a week and a half, so I am going to ask him about it. I will post again when I have his comments.

Hello everyone!!
Pre-surgery weight:450lbs.
Current weight: 335lbs.
Total weight loss: -115lbs.
I have pretty much been on a plateau since Feb. I weighed 350lbs. on Feb.22 and 4/27/05 I was at 335lbs. That is only a total of 15lbs. in 2 months

Hello,
After reading these posts, I am really worried now. I am a little over 6 months out and I can eat a whole chicken breast and corn on the cob. I can also eat almost anything. I think something has to be wrong with me. At times I could be eating and realize that the food that I had eaten was the equivalent of what I would have eaten before the surgery. Do you think that I should be calling my DR's office about this again? October 2004 please help me out.

I dont measure food anymore, either (as someone else had posted). I just eat and then when I feel full, I immediately stop. Otherwise I get sick. If things are kind of soupy -- you tend to be able to eat more, than if they are very filling like a meatloaf or potato. Sometimes I can only eat a few bites, then I am done. It just depends.....

Some days I worry about the same thing. I ate 2 egss and almost a whole slice of lite wheat toast for breakfast today. And I ate all but about 2 bites of a cheeseburger from McDonald's the other day. I felt so sick after and had explosive diarrhea about an hour later (nice) so I won't do that again. I can eat an entire Lean Cuisine - depending on which one...like I can eat the whole cheese raviloi one...but can't finish the Meatloaf and mashed potatoes.
It depends alot though....sometimes, if I've not had any snacks, I can eat a bit more. I don't weigh or measure my food anymore, but I think I eat 1/3 - 1/2 c of food at a time.
Of course, there are other times I can't eat more than three bites of something and I feel full, but sitll, I do get worried after I've eaten what I think is a lot of food.

Topic: How much can/do you eat?
Hi everyone I was just wondering how much everyone is eating or how much they can? Sometimes I feel like I can eat way too much and its really scary. I know its nothing compared to what I ate before WLS I just don't know if I should be able to eat this much just six months out? I could just be over cautious. Just would like to compare to some of you out there. Thanks!
