Sad and Grieving
Even though I don't post much, I do read alot of postings. I now need the support of loving AMOS board members.
On Saturday, Sept. 3 my husband passed away, unexpectantly, as a result of numerous blood clots to the lungs. He was 56 years old.
He drove himself to the hospital on Friday, went into cardiac arrest on Saturday afternoon and was put on a respirator. After spending several hours in ICU, the Drs.and ICU staff said he would continue to "code" and that my children and I needed to make a decision about resuscitating him again. We decided to have the respirator removed and he died shortly afterwards. We were all at the bedside and able to hold him as he passed from this life. I am a Hospice nurse but it's always hard when it hits so close to home. My family has many close friends and the loving support of our church family but the alone times are difficult. We will miss him so very much.
Everyone on these boards has been so supportive and I just wanted to share what I and my family are going through.
Thanks in advance for your prayers.
Nancy
To Nancy and your family,
Please accept my condolences for your loss. I too do not post much here but like to read the posts and offer ideas once in awhile when I have something that can help someone else. I understand the support you are used to giving to families as a hospice nurse. I work for the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization. It is you, who now needs the help and support of everyone around you. You are in my prayers.

Dear Nancy,
My thoughts go out to you and your family. Sending you the prayer that has helped me through my darkest hours:
God, grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
the courage to change the things I can;
and the wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
enjoying one moment at a time;
accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is,
not as I would have it:
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
that I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him forever in the next.
Amen
My condolences and sympathies to you and your family in your grief.

Dear Nancy,
As a devout Catholic, I have been dedicating MANY "Rosary's" these past few weeks, for all the sad times that have befallen our nation. However,
Today, it will be my pleasure to dedicate my first "Holy Rosary" (of the day) to the repose of the soul of your beloved husband..!
I will also pray that you and yours will realize the peace you deserve, and the confidence in knowing.. "you are NEVER ALONE!"
God Bless You and Yours,
Pete
