Dear Deborah - I had my surgery 10/6/05. I weighted 344 pounds at 5' 6" and I was sooo unhappy. When I find myself eating too many times during the day when I am not at work, I have a picture of myself when I was so fat-on the fridge. I look at that picture and remind myself how fat and unhappy I was, I find something to do and drink water. I weight 209 pounds as of last week. I only weight myself only once a month. I am very happy now. I am NOT going to be fat again. This is my last chance in life.

Yes, I have experienced that and by the end of the day I felt so guilty. I realized that I was using food to cope with difficult feelings as I did in the past. I had slipped back into old eating habits that fast. The most important thing for me was to recognize the problem, be honest with myself and another for accountability, and start over by doing the next right thing, which is following the pouch rules. I hope this helps.

Hi! Deborah,
I too experience the I'm still hungry syndrome even though its in my head, not my stomach. Its habit or stress. For the last 2 weeks I have been battling that lets eat everything in the cub board or fridge. The only thing that has helped me is I got sick with a virus and don't feel like eating at all, which is a good thing I think. Hang in there, remember its mostly in our minds & old habits. I do hope the bad habits will go away, it is a hard battle but I'll keep trying, I do not want to regain all the weight I have lost. So you are not the only one fighting this evil monstor. Have no idea's how to get rid of it; just continue to fight the notions that I'm hungrey and walk away, some times I can, and sometimes, I can't walk away & thats when I eat lots of fruit, bananas, peaches, strawberries, etc. Wish you Luck!lovedancelove
I went through that at 6-7 months out. And it was CHOCOLATE. Christ! Made me dump at first, then I sorta got used to it. All food tasted so good after the honeymoon period. I am very happy to say that phase has now passed!!! I think it may for you, too. I'm back to not wanting to eat much. Watch to see if the days you are craving foods are those days when you start with eating carbs. If I eat or drink protein first thing instead of carbs, my cravings are GONE and it is back to more like it was after surgery. I liken the experience to not having eaten for 6 months, then tasting a good meal. Everything tasted so darn good after 6 months that I couldn't get enough. Difference now is, I crave a good meal, go to a restaurant and ALWAYS end up eating a bit of it and asking for the to-go box. Then eat the meal for 2-3 days. That never happened before!!! haha!! Cheaper, too. I think it'll get better for you - but it sure didn't feel like the cravings were ever going to go away and leave my poor mind alone. Sure wish I was still losing 10 pounds a month now vs. the 4-5. But 4-5 pounds adds up, I 'spose. Still have at least 93 to lose.
Hang in there.
370/253/160??? (God please let me get under 200 pounds or I'm going to be one pissed 220 pounder)!!!
