Hello everyone! It has been a long time since I have posted. I'm mostly a lurker now adays. I have a question that I hoping someone can answer. I had my surgery Oct.22 and have been doing great, except for some numbness in my toes, mainly my big toe and it has now moved to my second toe. I went to my regular doctor with this problem and he said it was most likely due to the weight loss. Never heard of that before! Have any of you? Anyway, he prescribed me Neurontin 300MG. On the paper that it came with said it was for treatment for epilipsy. I haven't taken a dose yet, because I would like to speak with Dr. Sherer first. It is in time release capsules. Can we even use time release capsules? I hope someone can help, and also have any of you experienced a problem with toe numbness since weight loss? Thanks in advance, Debbie

Debbie! Make sure you contact your wls doctor and advise him of the medications. There is a list of meds you can never take, they can damage or cause ulcers in your new stomach (pouch) or worse. Check with his office first before you take them. I am 8 mts out and have never heard of such diagnosis, you might want to get a second opinion. I do get numbiness in my hands and toes but it is caused by fibromalygia with other serious painful symptoms. Make sure this medicine will not cause any harm to your new pouch. Hope this helps!

HELLO. I HAD THAT SAME PROBLEM AND MY DOCTOR SAID THAT I HAD TO TAKE MY B-12 ****EP FORGETTING TO TAKE IT). THIS WILL HELP THE CIRCULATION AND FROM EXPERIENCE IT DOES HELP. SO IF YOU ARE NOT TAKING THE B-12, I SUGGEST THAT YOU TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR, BECAUSE IT MIGHT BE THAT. LISA PRE-OP 369 LBS. ACTUAL 250 LBS. OR SO. I DONT WEIGH MYSELF THAT MUCH. I THINK ITS A LITTLE MORE THAN THAT. I DONT WANT TO GET FUSTRATED.

Make sure you are getting enough B-12. Shortage of B-12 can cause some kind of nerve problem and it is irreversible. Don't want you to panic because I'm not a doc and it could be something entirely different, but it is very important to get enough B-12.

Hello everyone, I too start experiencing this problem a few weeks ago. I saw my Doctor this week who said it was cause by a vitamin deficiency. He prescribed prenatal vitamins and B-12 shoots every week for one month and once a month here after. I have not been taking my vitamins every day and this was a result of that. I hope this help.
