NEW Here! 6mth post-op
Hello,
My name is Tanya and I am 6 mths into my post op.
I had my surgery October 18th 2004 and I feel great.
I weighed 270 day of surgery and now I weigh 180. So, I have lost 85 pounds.
I just have one question, does anyone have problems with taking viatimes? Any ones good out there that are easy to take. I have tried so many and hate them.
Thanks, Tanya
HI!
I take Centrum Advanced Formula Liquid Multi-vitamins. It cost around $7 or $8 dollars a bottle! The liquid is easier to get down and the taste is not that bad. Make sure you eat first before you take it. I take 1 tablespoon a day. Also, your body will asorb the liquid better than the pills. I take enough pills every day and if I can find another way to substitue pills I will. You can find it in most grocery stores or drug stores. Hope this helps. ki
Caroline, let us know how your upper GI goes. I am guessing you did not stretch you pouch out. I can eat way more than a 1/2 of cup if it is soft food or soup or salad. I make sure I go by the rule of protein first because just an ounce or two of protein and I am too full to continue eating. If I choose something soft I will overeat. Just recently my appetite has started to come back big time and I can eat more, so I am trying to be aware of this and stay busy or eat meat/protein to keep the appetite in check.
Take care, Janice
Tanya so glad you are doing great. By what you have posted you lost 90 pounds not 85, every pound counts at this stage. I take regular size vitamins. My doctor told me at 3 months that I can swalow normal pills. So I take the prenatal vitamins and calcium citrate from Sam's Club. I used to take the Flintstones chewable the first 3 months post op.
