Hey October folks. It's that time again. Let's give ourselves a big pat on the back. Whether you have lost 10#'s or 100#'s, YOU ROCK! If you want, let's do our monthly roll call. I thought this time besides the stats, what do you think has helped you lose weight? What issues are you having? What are you doing that might help others? Or just tell us what you are feeling. Surgery: Oct 11 Weight then: 334 Weight now: 227 Loss: -107 I think that I have been successful because I have followed my surgeons instructions to a "T". I still weigh and measure my food, never taking in more than 4 -6 oz in a meal. I do not eat red meat or chicken, by choice. I love fruits and vegis and they love me! I have not conciously eaten processed sugar. I still go through my closets every 2 weeks and get rid of everything that is too big. I am enjoying the gym now even tho my trainer is a real hard a$$ but it is working and I feel the best I can ever remember feeling. I even take stairs now instead of elevators. I never thought I would ever get to that point. I feel truly blessed to have had this surgery. Now let's hear how you are doing. Sheryl

Down 91 pounds at 24 wks, 3 days out. Doing good - but could be doing better with water intake, cutting down on salt and exercising. 4 more pounds before I can use my treadmill with it's weight limitations and about a week before the new health club opens its doors. 370/279/???

I need to come here more! This is very cool! I am post op had surgery on Oct. 1st. I will learn how to post a picture and get to know you all. My stats are...... 262/165/135 I'm 41 yrs old and I'm 5'6" tall...today is my 6 month anniversary. I'm down 97 pounds! Only 3 pounds from 100 pounds! OMG!!! How cool THAT day will be!! I wear normal size larges and some mediums right off the shelves and a normal size 12 jeans! Life is absolutely grand! I have 17 month old twin babies and 6 kids all together and this surgery has afforded me the ability to be a 100% better mom! I'm SO lucky and fortunate to have been able to have the surgery! I had a duodenal switch in Brazil....insurance wouldn't pay here so I had to go out of the country....it was a tough decision....but I was obviously led in the right direction. I hope to get to know you all. Lisa Cooper

Surgery Date 10/13 highest weight 250 current weight 153 (only 3 more to hit the century club) BMI 23.9 (normal!) I had a rough start with several blockages but the last couple of months have been doing well. I still throw up about 1x a week. I cant eat any meats so protein has been difficult. I found a good protein bar with only 1 gram of sugar in it. So I nibble on that all day. I am happy where I am, but want to lose another 28 lbs. Its going very slow now, about a pound a week. I am loosing hair like crazy though. People ask me all the time if I would do it again. There is no way I would go through what I've been through again, not for any amount of money, but now that I'm through it I am very happy I did! I feel normal now... What a wonderful thing!

Hello, I think I am right on target, my 6 months is Oct. 1st with a 81 pound loss. I do not have a problem with any foods (have not tried sugar of fatty foods as yet). I eat my protein first and take my supplements religiously. No soda and only 2 bloody mary's in 6 months, I have a 3 oz. cup of coffee daily. My water consumption is not as high as I like but it is near me 24/7. I do cardio exercise 6 days a week with some weight training. And most importantly NO COMPLICATIONS. My blood work will be done Wednesday at my 6 month check-up. I am VERY happy with my process and the exercise makes my 81 pounds look like 101 pounds. I want to wish everyone continued success in their weight loss journey and can't wait for the May Roll call to see everyones success. ..¸(`'?.¸(`'?.¸¸.?'´)¸.?
