I cannot believe that it will soon be six months since surgery for me! I have last almost sixty pounds fourty to go! How has everyone else done? I am surprised that I now crave protein and am disappointed when I cannot get to the gym, what a difference this surgery has made in my life. I am down to what I weighed when I got married 9-14-96. I am excited to get below this weight because I have not been there in so long! I am looking forward to summer this year for the first time in forever, I had told myself last summer that next year will be better, you will not be the biggest mom at the pool or park. I had hoped for a quicker weight loss but am grateful for my quick recovery and my slow continuous weight loss.

Congrats! I too have almost lost sixty pounds. My surgery was 10/06/04 and I am at -57. I hope I lose 3 more pounds by 4/06/05. I guess from some of the posts that my weightloss has been much slower that some others but I do feel good and have been able to feel so much better about myself. I just feel like I have a sense of control that I never had before. I know I need to exercise more but I have been working so much I am having a hard time fitting everything into the course of my day. Try to keep a positive outlook and I wish you continued success. LOL, Robyn

Hi Mary! My six month anniversery will be on April 6...one day before you and I feel so good! I am currently down 101 lbs from 298 to 197 lbs! This time last year I never thought that I would lose so much in a short amount of time. I also said last summer that next summer will be the best one yet and I can't wait! Congrats on your weight lose and take care! Laura

Yea to all of us for making the choice and having the courage to do what is best for our health!!! I have lost 105 since Oct 18, I still have 55 more pounds I want to lose. I know what you mean about the differences in both cravings and attitude. I raced my 7 year old twins the other day to the mail box, the first time ever!!! My mind sometimes is in just wonderment of how much my life has changed in such a short time. Congratulations to everyone and keep up the great work!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Howdy Neighbor, I've lost over a 100 pounds and feel great. I am so fortunate that I was able to do this surgery. I also love the protein drinks and actually miss them if I don't take them. I now fit in a smaller size wrangler jean(38) than I did in high school(40)~how cool is that! Craigerzz

Around 60# gone for me sence surgery. Another 71# to goal. I am such a slow loser, I get very discouraged at times and slip up with the carbs. Whitch of course slows my weight loss even more. Boy its hard to stay away from my old friend comfort foods when I get down. Most of you guys are doing so well and that is what keeps giving me hope. Barbara

I cant believe its been 6 months already! The time has gone really fast... I had surgery 10-6-04, and to date, have lost 96 lbs. I am very greatful that I was able to have this surgery, as it has just totally changed my life. I'm down to what I weighed right after high school. And, I now love to exercise. I still have problems, sometimes, getting in all my liquids, protein, and supplements -- but I am doing good. I'd like to lose about another 40-50 lbs, but would actually be happy right where I am, if I never lose anything else. CONGRATS on everyone else's weight loss! Susan

I am almost 6 months out and have lost only 62 pounds but I feel great and have so much more energy. I am trying atkins to see if that speeds it up! But hey 62 is better than nothing

My 6 month was April 5th also....I am down 72#....have never felt better! It is 1/2 of what the charts say I need to lose, but I would be thrilled with 50 more pounds! I am starting to look a little like a Shar-Pei (sp?), thought....my son loves to play with my baggy arm skin! What a blessing this surgery has been for me! My surgery date was October 19th - LapBand. Started at 305 and now down to 240.2 thats almost 65 lbs! in 6 months its so awesome I just walk around smiling all the time...even with the hairloss its all so worth it. I have a personal trainer 5 days per week and I am progressing in that department as well...I enjoy working out now..sure not something I would have said before last October. I am starting to do research on plastic surgery for the excess skin...I know its weird to look forward to surgery especially for someone whom hates pain and is scarred of surgery but I really am looking forward to it because it will mean I have made my weight loss goal....its not a dream or fantasy anymore...its absolutely amazing. Good luck to all of you on your journey see you in the skinny girl shops! Margaret
