Shopping is scary

Well, the other day, since my size 20 jeans dont fit, I thought Id go buy jeans in a real store, you know, the kind of clothes that dont have the word "plus" on the tag. I went into all the trendy stores, looking for a pair of jeans my size and all the stores only went to 14 in jeans. WOW. And people wonder why girls end up with all sorts of eating disorders. That size 14 was considered an extra large. One store said, we only go to size 14, but they are made small so they are more like a 12. Another said the clothing is aimed more at young ppl. I guess 27 is too old for jeans? The last store I walked into mad. I said, "Listen, I just lost almost 100lbs and Im wanting a pair of "normal" jeans. I think Im a 16 or 18, can you help?" She was happy and said sure. Then she brought me the jeans. MENS jeans. The womens jeans still only go to 14 there too. I told her I didnt lose this weight to go buy mens clothing. Then I went home and bawled. It blew my mind that I could lose so much and still not fit anything considered normal. To add to it, Ive been missing my hubby as he moved out of town for work. About a 10 hour drive away. His girls keep asking for their dad and its hard. We are moving down there too, but Im waiting for our oldest to finish the school year. So what did I do? I looked for something to eat. I took one bite and realized that I wasnt eating because I was hungry and it was only because I was upset. I put the food away and decided to deal with my emotions instead. On a good note, I went to Wal Mart the next day and paid 20$ for a NORMAL size 16 jeans! I felt great. I was a size 28 just 5 months ago. I wish I hadnt bothered with the trendy stores. All that did was hurt my feelings, lol. Anyway, I ramble a lot Shopping was scary and I felt almost paniced. I dont know how to shop for normal clothes.

Wow, it sounds like you have alot of stress in your life right now with your hubby gone. I know what that is like and I wouldn't repeat it for the world. It will get better though. I'm glad you found some pants at Wal-Mart. It's nice to wear clothes that fit after losing so much weight. Happy Easter, Patty

Stress, ya a lil bit Im not used to doing things without him and even the simplest things, like taking a shower in peace, are the biggest hassle. He will be home next weekend for Haileys birthday. Its going to be a loooong week I see our surgeries are a day apart. Oct 22 is actually hubbys birthday. He spent it in the hospital with me Happy Easter to you too, Debb

Hey look at it this way why buy something at a trendy store that you will not fit in another month! Save it for when you are a size 10. Your walmart jeans are great for now. I am also tempted to go out and buy an expensive dress or outfit but I talk myself out of it. I am lucky because I have a large family and a friend at work that gives me clothes as I am losing, but I still get the desire to buy something special. Take care, ..¸(`'?.¸(`'?.¸¸.?'´)¸.?
