My surgery was 10/14/04. I've lost around 92 pounds but I've been stuck for 3 weeks & I've about to panic. I'm scared I won't lose any more. I don't know if this is just a plateau or if the rate of weight loss has slowed down permanently. I wonder if I'm eating too many carbs. From everyone replies I realize the loss varies but I'm still scared. I'm still over 200. What do you all eat now? I'm too far away to get to the support group.

I am down 52 pounds, I do get my protein in and water, I am exercising 2-3 times week at the gym, typically the days i don't get to the gym I am working 12 hour shifts in the ICU, if I cannot make it to the gym I mow the yard, walk with my daughter or something to keep moving, I also get discouraged-s by the fast losers but of course am happy for them. I have gone from a 2x-3x or 24w to a 16, I feel good alot more energy, I am 5'8 and started at 278, once I get to the century club I will be at my goalo

hi there i was oct 21 im 58 was 283 now 204 not in the -79 . Sometimes i way a pound or more depending which is frustrating. So I am not in the century club either. But I never dreamed id loose this much weight soo quickly. Actually when i do get to the century mark i too will consider myself at goal Actually if i didnt loose any more i still would have done it again in a heartbeat. I have my life back and my self confidence. And like the cartoon character from the shampoo (with the jetsons on it and the flintstons) I feel pretty...imagine that 4 mouths ago me and pretty didnt enter my mind in the same day let alone thought or sentence. So relax enjoy the ride and give it up for us all!!!!! kindest regards deborah gale

I too am waiting for the day I can say down 100lbs. I feel great, but still have a long way to go. It's definetly slow'd down, and I am scared the honeymoon is over....started @306, am down to 213,but Dr.'s goal is 179....personal goal 160. I just wonder if I can really actually get there. It seems unreal.

Sigh...I am one of the slow losers but I'm getting there. I agree that there are some advantages of losing "slowly". My surgeon said that the slow losers were much more likely to keep the weight off than the fast losers. I always think about that when I get sad because my 4 wls surgery friends, who all went into surgery the same week that I did, danced into the century club over 2 months ago. Best to you Kolla Before pre-op diet -> 304 Day of surgery -> 282 Today -> 212 Goal -> 140

Hi! Well, I'm in the century club but not all because of the surgery. Surgery date Oct 14, 04, lost 80lbs. Weight 310lbs when journey began, wt day of surgery 276, current weight 203, from size 26/28 to an 18. When you read profiles, maybe some people count their total weight loss, I know I do. I lost over 25lbs before surgery, got down to 276lbs day of surgery and still losing. If you start worry about how much weight you have not loss you will drive yourself nuts! Maintain your diet instructions from your nutritionist, make sure you get all your vitamins and protein in first. Be sure you're doing some kind of exercise, i.e., walking is a good one. The weight will come off and you will hit plateaus sometimes, I know I do, I just don't worry about it. Grateful for the weight I have lost. Make sure you drink plenty of water. Do not drink sodas or carbonated drinks they will stretch your pouch. Hang in there! You're one of us. Remember everybody is different, we all gained weight differently and we all lose it differently. Also, if you're exercising, you gaining muscle and muscle shows on the scale, look at inches, your clothing changes, not your weight. Don't compare yourself with anyone but you. We're proud of you - Look what you have accomplished. This is not an easy way out to lose weight, its hard to meet and do all the daily requirements such as nutrition and exercise. I know. Change the way you think, look at your weight loss in a different light and you will agree!

Hey everyone, I am not in the century club yet either but not worried a bit about it. I have lost 74 lbs total (15 pre-op). I didn't take measurements but know that I have gone from a 2-3x down to (YIPPEE) bought a size large fleece coat over the weekend to finish out the winter/early spring in. I have not worn a size large since I was in my very late teens/early twenties. I am excercizing 4-5 times per week, doing the "Walk Away the Pounds Express" 3 mile aerobic walk. I feel fabulous. Will I have some saggy skin - yep, but hopefully with the slower loss rate, not as much if I lost it really fast. I had my doc appointment last week and he was extremely pleased with my results so far. So I don't get discouraged, we are all in this to make the best results possible for our health and no matter how much we lose and how fast it comes off, our health and quality of life will be so much better than it was before. hi jo: just had my date five weeks ago. the century club has not yet even entered my mind, although my total to lose is close to 250. i'm still trying to get used to eating real food again and finding my way through all the changes in my life. maybe what you can do is remember back to here and realize how far you've come so far. you're doing just fine, but i know what you mean about reading all these posts re: the 100 lbs and getting bummed. still, patience is a good thing. you'll get there - look how far you've come! take care. be nice to you. dorthe

I'm not there yet either....I had surgery Oct 7th and have lost 74lbs....still have 73 more pounds to go....it is a bit disconcerting to have others loose more but (and I know we all keep getting told this ...) everyone is different ....it is not time to worry yet....still it is really hard not to be bummed out about it. I think the only thing that has thrown me out of my funk about it lately was my recent airplane trip....the joy of not needing the seat belt extender and the absolute bliss of not worrying about whether I would be able to fit was incredible! It was the best plane ride I've ever had even though it was packed and I caught strep throat from person sitting next to me ... hang in there and go out and try some clothing on or try to do something that you never could have imagined you could do before...you'll feel lots better...at least for a little while... Lynn
