Everyone is doing so well it's hard not to be jealous! I started at 278 on 10/13. I am only down 50lb. I really was hoping to be like everyone else but it just isn't gonna happen like that!

Hi Oct Babies! Surg date: 10/20/04 Pre Surg wt: 245 (or 255) Current wt: 183 Loss: 62 (or 72) Wish I lost more as we all do. I have lost 65 inches total. Went from a size 26/28 to 8/10. I love shopping and also scour the sale racks. I started exercising again and am trying to find a variety of foods (besides cheese and beef jerky) to eat. I love vegies, fruit and soy nuts also. I am struggling to fight off bad habits like snacking and eating late meals. I am anemic and need to boost up my iron, but I feel fine. Hair is falling out (and didn't have that much to begin with), and skin is sagging (well, that's to be expected on an old bird like me!) But it really bothers me that my face looks "tired". Guess I'll need an extreme makeover. LOL Congratualations all! Keep up the great work!

Hi Everyone First off, Congradulations to all, everyone is doing so well! I had my surgery on October 18, weighed in that day at 301 and now weigh 228, 73 pounds gone and feeling great! I have gone from a size 26/28 to an 18. I can even wear some 16's which blows my mind I really have not had any complications until just recently, I have been experiencing headaches but I believe that is from a lack of fluids. I eat a lot of fruit, pineapple is just about the only thing I crave though. I do not miss soda at all which I think is awesome because I use to drink at least 3 sodas a day. I really have not started an exercise regimen which I need to do because I am starting to have some sagging skin in the arms and tummy. Overall I am thrilled with my weight loss and I look forward to reaching my goal by my one year anniversary date Keep up the good work everyone!!!!

Surgery Date: October 15th Weight Then: 313 lbs Weight Now: 245 lbs Weight Lost: -68 lbs It sure is encouraging to see how everyone is doing and to realize that even though our weight losses vary so much, we are still all going down quickly. Like my doctor told me when I showed disappointment because I had only lost 60 lbs at 4 months out.... "Have you EVER lost 1/2 pound a day in your life?" That comment gave me a new perspective and helped me to not be disappointed in myself. God Bless!

Hi there, as of today, here are my stats: Surgery date: 10-6-04; weight 288 Today's weight: 200 Loss: 88 lbs!! What has helped me? #1 - the support groups have kept me on track ever since before surgery. I live for them, and wont live without 'em! #2 - I have cheated, I will admit, .. but I try to stick with what was given to me as far as foods to have and those to avoid. #3 - I work out twice a week, on passive exercise beds. I started at 5 weeks out, and I know it has helped even though I jiggle jiggle jiggle too, now. I had 2 endoscopies done early out .... this this past Friday (see my newest post) I had to have another one and go back in 2 months for a followup. I have ulcers now ... this is probably the worst issue since surgery -- other than all the nausea and vomiting. The only thing I can suggest is take your vitamins and supplements -- exercise, exercise, exercise -- and do the support groups. It will all be worth it in the end! Today -- I feel like total crap, and just want to cry. But, I'm sure I will bounce back once these meds are in my system and the pain goes away. I've never had ulcers before, so this is all new to me....... Have a good day y'all! Susan

My highest weight (that I know of) March 2004 440 pounds Surgery date: 10/19/2004 360 pounds Weigh in on 3/8/05 (I weigh in on Tuesdays) 261 pounds 99 lbs since surgery 179 lbs since 03/04 My success is because I have followed the clinics instructions. The clinic I go to has a pretty conservative eating plan, (which I am glad for). I go to the Y 5 to 6 days a week. I attend every support group, drink all my water. I knew this was going to be a mental challenge as well as physical, and have gone through some low points, but am really glad I had the surgery. Continued success to everyone. Jean W.

Hi, Sheryl thanks so much for doing the roll call. It is great to hear how well everyone is doing no matter how much you have lost. It is nice to see what the average weight loss is for everyone so that if you want to you can figure out if there is something else you can do to better yourself. I started swimming 2 days a week doing 40-50 olympic laps and started doing an ab workout, which i dont like to try to tighten my tummy marla 342/249/175 -93 lbs to date
