posted this on the main board, but wanted to check with those who also had surgery about the same time .... Has anyone else recently started to experience dizziness - even while sitting??? Do you know what is causing it? On the main board, folks said it can be from not enough water, low iron, not enough protein, not enough food altogether, some medications.... Though I was drinking more water today. Does anyone know if it is ever caused by blood pressure either high or low? (- have wondered about that). Also- my dietician told me that recommended protein is based on your goal weight (she used a formula/calculation). I was told to eat 50-60 grams per day and had a 200 cm bypass. I've heard others needed up to triple that amount with distals. How many grams of protein were you told to get in per day and what type of surgery type &/or amount bypassed did you have? Don't want to find out 5-10 years from now I'm not getting enough protein in - though I hope 50-60 is enough because some days that amount of protein intake is repulsive. The color of this ====> reminds me of today's favorite protein - Nectar green apple (Said today's fave, because it may go the path as others - good one day, intolerable the next - have at least 7 jugs of protein in the kitchen - some that don't taste good any more or NEVER did) thanks ! 370/286/150-160------------Adios -84 big ones!! I was thinking the same thing. I had surgery 10-6-04, and I know I dont get enough water and protein in. I am working on it .... but I wondered why all of a sudden I was having dizzy spells and feeling light-headed. I'm glad to know that at least I am not alone! I had surgery on 10/18 and have also started having occasional dizziness. The first time I had it was a few weeks ago. It got so bad that I went to the Dr. He said it was from the rapid weight loss and my body just had to readjust. He also ordered some labs, which came back fine. I do notice that when I don't eat enough or get in enough protein, I feel lightheaded. But, I feel so much better overall that this is a small price to pay. I know I'm eating "right" by the way I feel - GOOD!!! Nancy 382/287/180?

Hi Kiki! May i ask how tall you are? I was wondering if the weight you would like to weigh was the reccomended for your height. I too feel dizzy and light headed. I even have a headache that comes on everyday. I too posted on the mainboard and I was told not enough water. Supposedly the headaches is the first sign of dehydration. It may be possible becasue I can only get in 16 oz or 24 oz. I have lost 92 pounds. I had my surgery Oct. 6th. 340 before surgery. 248 after surgery. Goal 170. I am 5 ft. 9 in. Take care!

5'5" tall - I'd be happy getting to 150-170 (no spring chicken here), but not sure I'll make it - the weight loss has slowed. Haven't been able to exercise much because of the knees, but they've started to feel better now, so I can get out and do walking. YOU are doing great! 92 POUNDS OFF. Think more water is needed with more exercise, too. I wonder why you can only get in 16-24 oz? You must be drinking other fluids with that?
