cereal addict
hello friends, well I have decided that I have become a cereal addict. I started adding cereal to my diet about a month ago for the fiber which I desperately needed. I find myself really preferring it now to regular foods. I usually start my day with a half cup of corn chex with splenda and 1% milk, but honestly I have had days where I have the same for lunch and again for dinner. I know its not like I eat much of it but the crunch and flavor I find most appealing. I have tried switching to carb smart total or one of the other cereals with protein , but the taste was just not the same. anyone else snack on cereal or use it as a meal substitute?
I am now down about 80 pounds since 0ct 25th some days 85, but losing has grown slower over the past couple of months. some weeks nothing then a day or so of a few pounds lost. I do find that I am able to eat more this past month, and have added seafood back into my diet with no problems. I still prefer soups to hard food , and chicken still seems to sit heavily in my pouch so I usually avoid it. have not tried dense red meat yet like steak, but hamburger goes down well. I have yet to try anything with sugar and hope to continue to avoid that option, though I have had a bite or two of fried egg roll with no trouble, other than guilt over having had something fried. I have added a small piece of bread back into my diet with dinner usually. water continues to be my biggest problem though I have managed to get in 40 oz in past couple of days, it sits very heavy in my pouch and usually gives me terrible belching. I find that my best meal now is lunch , dinner is usually half of what I can consume at lunch. I find the dinner meal not very satisfying and only eat something because I know I must. now of course if I have my cereal I am very satisfied as it goes down easily and is just the right amount.
I eat very little to no veggies which I am worried about. first they dont sit well with me, they dont make me sick but just uncomfortable. so the only green things im getting in is the occasional salad.
other than the above I feel great, walk abuot 3 miles a day, and use hand weights while sitting at the computer to do arm curls. still tryignt o find the right gym where I can go to get the work I need in the stomach area. but I always seem to find a reason not to check a place out. wish men luck.
Hi Joe - you are doing great! I know you and I had abrief discussion about Kashi cereal several weeks ago. I was on a huge cereal kick for weeks and weeks and I, liek you, would eat it 3 meals a day! My nutritionist is dead against any cereal, but I needed the fiber so badly - PLUS it contains more protein than most of the foods she was recommending at the time.
Anyway - you are doing much better than me with food - I have tried everything my heart desires.....and everything sits fine with me. Luckily, I crave veggies and dairy....but once in a while, I can manage a half of a cookie or a few peanutbutter crackers, chips, etc. I don't really want the sweet stuff, and if I do I reach for that cereal. Honey Nut Cheerios has been my pick this week. LOL With fresh sliced strawberries AND bananas......MMMMMMM. Chicken is still not a good thing for me either and I avoid it. In fact, I am sick to death of all meats right now. I have always been a big fruit & veggie eater. I need to add an extra protein drink most days, as I am skipping meat so much.
We went out to dinner tonight and I ordered broiled scallops and ate exactly 1.5 of the 15 or so of them on the plate and about 1/4 of my baked potato. What a waste - I mean, of course I brought them home, but at that rate I will be eating them for a week!
Keep up the good work and good luck in your search for a gym!
