Atousa, were you a light weight when you had your surgery? My surgeon told me my weight loss may be slow because my starting weight was 258.5 the day of surgery. I have lost 52# so far and had many stalls. 19.5 of those pounds were in the frist two weeks post op. Your body may need time to catch up with the 54# you've lost so far. Did you take your measurments? I bet your losing inches. Every time I've stalled I got smaller. Just keep to the plan and the weight will start to come off again. Barbara

I have only lost about 8 pounds since Christmas.......I have lost 52 since surgery - I was 232 day of surgery and yes, my dr did tell me to expect to lose slower. He told me that I should only lose 5 - 7 pounds per month now!!! And I also have had many, many stalls during the past 4 months. I have tried every trick - and now I just give up and I am simply eating healhty, drinking my fluids, and exercising......it will come off eventually and I have to stop obsessing about it. It is frustrating though. Jenn 232/180/140

Hello, It looks like we were in the hospital for surgery at about the same time! I am so glad that you responded....I was feeling sort of down because I've only lost ~5lbs in the last month. My surgeon told me that I was doing fine and to stop stressing but it is nice to hear that someone else is at the same place.... Thanks! Lynn 283/226/216

CONTINUE TO EXERCISE EVEN IF ITS JUST WALKING. YOU'LL SEE, YOU'VE COME THIS FAR! STAY FOCUS AND STAY WITH THE PROGRAM. YOU ARE A NEW PERSON AND THE BUTTERFLY HAS NOT LEFT ITS COCOON YET!

Hello all who have replied to the "HAVEN'T LOST A POUND IN ALMOST 4 WEEKS"!!! Oh, and hello to all others as well. This may sound wierd to say and may not come out the right way, but it is (sort of) comforting to hear that "I" am not alone. I lost 75 lbs in the first three months (fairly quick in my opinion), then boom...for the last 3-4 weeks I haven't lost one iota of a smidgen of a pound. My feelings and emotions were/are the same as yours...is this ALL the weight I am going to lose???? I surely hope not. My husband understands, but feels I am worrying for nothing. He says you are doing everything right, Protein, water, exercise...and not to worry. Even still, I can't help but wonder ( I am only human) that I may not be doing enough, or possibly eating too many carbs, or just NOT enough protein for my height and weight (as you see conflicting stories on just how much of one thing [carbs, protein, fat, sugar, etc.] we should be ingesting). Sure, we all get a food "plan" so to speak, from our Nut./Surgeon's, but each and everyone you hear on this forum has a different opinion. So many books tell you conflicting stories as well as far as how much protein/carbs, etc. we should be getting. Who is correct, what do we go by? How do we know just how much protein and carbs and sugar and fat, etc. is good for us individually or needed to sustain weight loss and keep a healthy body and mind? Any suggestions out there? You are an amazing group and I love to come here for support. ((((hugs)))) Audrey

I have only had slight experience with this, although I think most of us from time to time get worried that we might not lose anymore weight. It is always in the back of my mind, and in my case I think that is because of the many times that I have failed at dieting, Losing the weight only then to gain it back, along with additional weight. I agree with others there will be ups and downs. Hang in there and keep a check some weeks will be better than others but don't get discouraged.

I got stuck on a plateau at 3 weeks out. I didn't lose a pound for 20 days. My weight loss has slowed down considerably but according to my surgeon I am an average loser. I was 282 lbs the day of surgery and today I weigh 220 lbs. Hang in there. Your body is adjusting. Are you eating enough? Your body may have fallen into "hibernation mode" if it doesn't get enough calories. Best of luck to you Kolla Lap RNY 10/18/2004 282/220/235
