Question
Oh no, that means I am in big trouble because I only lost 65 pounds so far. I exercise 5 to 6 days a week for an hour at a time. I am doing everything right. I am getting in 700 - 900 good calories in a day. Up from 500 calories from the first 2 1/2 months out. I have been in Ketosis since my surgery day Oct. 1st and that is why I lost lots of inches. I went from a 26 to a size 18. Even though the scale is not going down, the dress sizes are! I am happy with my success so far. I think your 71 pound loss is great. My doctor didn't say anything about my weight loss thus far. Take care, Janice
Bahhhh!!!!
Dont let your Dr. discourage you... you are doing GREAT... any loss is better than no loss... He should be encouraging you not trying to discourage you... Keep up the great work... we all lose at our own pace... he cannot compare you to anyone else... all of us are different...
As for exercise.. I wont do it.. not yet anyways... i will not work on turning my fat into muscle.. i want to get rid of the fat first... Once i reach -100 lbs i am then going to kick up the exercise and start toning up...
Good luck to everyone and hope all are feeling well... Take care

Hello, I have also lost 71 lbs. and my doctor says I am right on track. I am sort of at a plateau and he said that is to be expected. Do you really think 71 lbs since 10/19 is slow? I remember how it took me 8 months to loose 30 on WW. And if this 71 lbs. is slow for us, I prefer it so our skin catches up! Good Luck!!!
Hi. I just checked your profile and I couldn't find your beginning stats anywhere! I really believe that the weight loss has a lot to do with your beginning weight and height, the whole bmi thing.
I really don't think there is a problem. You and I both had our surgery on the same day. I have lost a bit more than you, but really not all that much... 15lbs. So, If you ask me, I think you are doing wonderfully! You should really be proud of your weight loss, 71lbs is a lot of weight... it is equal to a child!!!
Keep up the great work! You will be fine! Have a great day!

Hi!
Surgery date Oct 14. I have lost 67lbs since surgery and my doctor states I'm right on track. Contrats to you. Apparently he's not thinking, you are losing inches instead of pounds. Remember with exercise you gain muscle and muscle mass adds weight. I also am in a size 18 and even if I did not lose anymore weight, but, I know I will, I am proud and happy at this size. I have my life back. I started out at 310lbs since I started this journey, total weight lost since Mar 04 is 97lbs. You go girl, you're right on track in our book . You look great! Keep up the good work!
I think that you are doing great, some people lose faster than others some lose slower, the main thing is that you are losing. I was told that if you have a high weight number when you have surgery that you tend to lose faster than most for a while then pateau. My beginning pre op weight was 377 and I am only 5 feet five inches, Had my surgery on the 21st and it is now February19th, I have lost about 105 pounds so far. I feel that you should be proud of your weight loss, and comfortable with it and 71 pounds is still quite an accomplishment since your surgery was in October also. Keep up the good work....... My Doctor thought that I was losing a little to fast but according to the charts that are given here as a tool I am right on track also.....
I think 71 lbs is great. I am at 71 this morning (15 pre surgery and 56 post) I see my doctor in 2 weeks, so I don't know if he will think this is slow or just right, but I know I am happy with it. I am using the 3 mile Walk Away the Pounds Express video 4-5 times per week and eating well. Have had no complications since the surgery and feel wonderful. Also, Southern Maryland? I am in Indian Head on the Potomac in Charles County. Nice to see another Marylander on here.
