Well hello everyone! I have lost 70 pounds, I believe I am doing great, I have only thrown up three times and that was over eating to fast. pretty much I can tolerate red meats, seafood, toasted breads and wraps. Can't tolerate chicken, pork still haven't tried raw veggies or salads as my surgeon said not till six months out. I always do protein first and try to get at least 40oz. of water a day, I do a protein shake every other day or a protein bar. I eat Total high protein cereal almost every night to meet my protein needs and my hair is following out quite a bit. I have been using this shampoo called vitatress w/ biotin by Nexxus and it seems to be helping. I don't do formal exercise but I am definetly more active, I go bike riding and walking especially on the weekends, before I couldn't walk from the parking lot to the front of a store, now I can walk for hours and feel great! Good Luck to everyone! , Mayra

Surgery Date: October 19th, 2004 Starting weight: 304 Today's Weight: 222 Total loss thus far: 82LBS!!! I have been very fortunate from the beginning, I still feel like something is going to go wrong. I have no trouble getting my water in and I can eat basically everything that I want to. For a while I did have some trouble getting all of my protein in, but then I found a liquid protein that works well for me. I had some interesting shopping experiences today. I went to Kmart to lay away some exercise equipment, which I did. But, I decided to check out thier clothing. They had a clearance rack, so I decided to buy a top and pair of jeans for when they fit. When I got home I tried them on. The top I bought in a size 2x because their tops never seem to run true to size, anyway, to my suprise it fits me well NOW! The jeans I bought in a size 18 and they fit, tight, but they still can be buttoned and zipped and worn if I wanted to! I just can't believe it. Looking at the clothing I thought, Hmmm, It will be a while before I can wear them. I know it happens to us all, but I found it refreshing. I guess it was a little pick-me-up that I needed. Congratulations to all of us October babies on our fabulous accomplishments! Keep up the great work! Amber

Hey everyone it is great to hear that everyone is doing a good job. I have to bow down and say thanks to the lord for bringing me through this surgery with very little problems. I had my surgery on October 28th, and everything is going really well for me. My beginnig weight was 384 lbs and now I weigh 321 lbs, that is a loss of 63 lbs. I can pretty much eat anything with the execption of chicken, turkey, and any form of sugar. I sometimes still seem to eat to fast and when I do my body lets me know, I alway end up throwing it back up. I have really been trying to get my protien in I drink 2 protien shakes a day, I have really found ones that I like they taste like coffee, they are made by advantage it think. I have started going back to curves and that is really going well for me. I have found that I have a lot more energy now then I have had in a very long time. I really like that I can fit in my bath tub again and get up and down with no problem now. It feel great to be able to soak my legs after I work out. Well continue the good work everyone and I hope we can do this again in another couple of months. Anni

Hello all, I doing great! I feel so much better than I did pre op. I can eat just about anything w/ the exception of bread and sugar. I am able to drink my protien shakes every day, no issues w/ dairy(thank the gods). My water intake is good as well, thank you PROPEL. I have gone back to the gym and am proud of myself for doing so. I am sore the next day but hey,no pain...no gain..or loss in our case. Friends and co workers are really starting to make alot more comments at how different I look. I can hardly keep myself in clothes that fit (at least they are baggy instead of tight). I dont mind though. Robb 337/257/195

Hello October Buddies, Looks like everyone is doing a great job on the weight loss end. I'm loosing weight at a steady rate but I am also puking 2 or 3 times/week. There is no rhyme or reason to the puking. I can eat chicken, turkey, pork and eggs just fine. But ground turkey, ground beef (96% lean), veggie burgers all make me sick. The dietician feels like it is the consistency of each that my new pouchy friend does care for. So I try to avoid them at all costs. I can also eat something one day and be fine, the next day I reheat it and I get sick. I don't know if I'm eating to fast or what. Oh, well, I guess I'm a mystery. I do know one thing life is so much easier 80 pounds lighter! This has been both the hardest, easiest, most rewarding lifestyle change I have ever taken. Starting weight: 357 Weight today : 277 Total Loss : 80 pounds Have a great month! Jen

Down 78 pounds as of today - 17 weeks out. Weight loss seems slower the last month - but still going in the right direction. I'll take it! 370/292/150-160 -78
