it is time for us to "toot our own horns"! In addition to posting our weight loss, let's add what we are eating. Everyone has different food plans, I think it would be fun to see what everyone is eating. It's not mandatory, just if you feel like it. Also, if you have an issues or success hints, let's pass them along. Surgery: Oct 11th Weight before surgery: 334 Weight now: 253 LOSS: 81#'s I am still not very adventurous in my eating. I still eat fish 2 times a day. Protein first! Plus for breakfast I have a canned protein shake that has 35 g of protein. I also try to have fresh vegetables and fruit each day. I have been adding more fruit to my daily intake. It seems to have helped my weight loss start again plus kept me pretty regular, if ya know whatI mean. I am also enjoying salad now. I only eat a very small amount but I enjoy every bite. I don't always get all my water in but I am usually close to 64 oz. So, how are you doing? Sheryl

my surgery was 10/18/04 starting weight 229# weight today 175# total weight loss 54# goal 140# need to lose 35# what I eat is fish occasionally,baked por****asionally baked ground beef occ. but mostly I eat chicken, baked, broiled, crock pot with this I eat a vegetable generally 2oz meat/fish/chicken and 1oz. veg for between meals I get 40gms of protein through shakes and at least once per day I eat fruit,jello, or low carb. ,low fat popsicles

My surgery was October 27. I started at 247 pounds and I'm at 191 - down 56 pounds. People are really commenting on my weight loss now, and I love it! I just in the past couple of days have rediscovered my collar bones, and in the past couple of weeks I've found my rib cage. No individual ribs yet. ;) I still drink a lot of protein drinks. In the evening, after work, I'll eat solid protein such as tuna, chicken salad, fish, bean soup, etc. Sometimes at lunch I'll have time for some solid food, too, or a protein bar. Got to keep reminding myself to get in that liquid - which is one big reason I drink so many protein drinks - kills two birds with one stone. -Denise

Hey Everyone, Havent been around much.. doing alot of working and kids keeping me busy... I feel great, still not eating more than 600 calories a day... try to get in all my protein.. but doesnt always work.. but i am taking all my vitamins... still not doing well with veggies... can eat strawberries, grapes, and bananas... steak doesnt go down well... lean pork is ok, chick can be tough... but im feeling great... so my body must be getting what it needs... My surgery date was on Oct 20th... i am 15 weeks out tomorrow and have gone from 333 lbs to 250 lbs... a total loss so far of 83 lbs.. i have not been doing alot of exercise.. i know i know.. but i did not want to turn the fat into muscle.. i wanted to lose the fat first then work on the rest... so i stick to my plan ... once i hit my century mark then I will step up the exercise... Glad to see everyone is doing so wonderful... we should all be very proud of ourselves and give a pat on the back to ourselves... we deserve it.. I have been having a good month! I joined a gym(soo hard to get going!!)(I'm a wimp!) and have bought my first "new" clothes!! Preprogram wt. = 295# (we are required to go on liquid diet for 6 weeks pre program) presurgery=270#=loss 25# now=197#=loss 98# I lost 35# w/i the first 2 weeks... didn't get much of anything down. Had a terrible time till recently getting anything in , but was getting water in really well then. Just w/i last mo. started getting proteins in and other foods to follow. Have lost about 2/3 of my hair(thank goodness it's thick!! had to get a haircut short, for this.) (went from size tight 26 to size 16 now. boobs are missing in action!!) I can't eat chicken,steak,bread(don't miss the bread),milk (can eat cheeze,cottage cheeze and little sour cream)refined sugar and fruit juices. I can eat all raw veggis(chew,chew,chew)nuts,fruits,ground meat moist,sunflower seeds, most all else if I follow the no-no guidelines my body gives me. Love soups(so easy and satisfing),fruits and sunflowerseeds. Drink protein drinks 2 x daily(30 gms ea) and try to ge****er 10 oz., ice tea u/s w lemon 1 qt.(also decaf),flat diet squirt 10 oz.. (about). Lots of ice in all drinks... helps get in the water too! crushed is my passion! janee cain

Hi everyone, I am at 63 lbs now and feeling fabulous. I can eat everything, no restrictions, just not alot of anything at one time - which is soooo wonderful. I don't dump on anything either, so I have to police myself on what I eat. I am excercising each day. My Mom sent me the Walk Away the Pounds video and its really cool. I started with the 1 mile but not enough challenge, so until I get the 2 mile video, I am going the 1 miles twice minus the warmup and cooldown twice. I am just over 3 months now and am so thankful that I had this surgery. I am now 10-15 lbs lighter than I was 4 years ago when I got married. Yipppeeee. Have a great month. Heather

HI! Start out at 310lbs, lost 34lbs before surgery. Thursday, Oct 14, 04 surgery day, weighed 276, now down to 213lbs, lost 67lbs since surgery and a total loss of 97 lbs. Gone from a size 26 to an 18. I can eat most anything but still have problems with milk, eggs, and bread. The other night I had a craving for chili with beans, great protein meal, I can eat about 1/2 cup. Sometimes I think I do not eat enough and then sometimes I think I eat too much. Love strawberries, cantalope, watermelon, apples and grapes, eat alot of fruit great fiber. Most of my meals consist of tuna, chicken, salads, fresh fruits, & cereal. Can eat most meats, beef, fish, chicken, & pork. I'm having problems getting enough protein down, I can't drink protein drinks with milk they make me feel and getting down the fluids is hard, but, I keep trying. Other than that I'm great.

Hi Sheryl, I'm Shelley! I have been very ill since surgery. Lots of nausea.. bleh. Anyhow here goes: Surgery: Oct. 27, 2004 Weight at Surgery: 228 Weight now: 161 Loss of: 67 pounds! I cannot tolerate any meat as it tastes gross to me now. I eat only yogurt, soups, canned veggies, tomato juice, orange juice, diet pepsi's, sugar free jello, and that's about it I drink very little water, and that's probably why I am nauseated all the time... *sigh*

Hi everyone!! I have a very picky pouch!! I eat a lot of chicken and fish. I can not eat ANY food that has grease on it. I throw it up every time. Can't eat bread. Only red meat I have tried is lean ground hambuger in Chili Soup. I drink lots of milk. I have an occasional soda. I like diet cherry 7-up. Raw vegies still don't sit well in my pouch no matter how long I chew them. I do well with salads. I had surgery 10/04/04. So far I have lost 110#. I joined Curves 2 weeks ago and that has seemed to realy help my weight loss. Everyone is doing a great job. Keep it up!! Surgery: 10/04/04 Starting weight: 383 Weight now: 273 Total loss: 110

hi there pre op wt 283 height 5ft 8 (approx) current weight 220.5 total loss 62lbs surgery oct 22nd i am eating anything just alot smaller quantities. I tolerate everything meats, milk and sugar in coffee. I get to the hill for some snowboarding about once a week. I know i need to up the excersize but alas a 10 hour backshift with three kids leaves me working and sleeping. So the weekends i usually head to the hill to get in excersize. I always try to pick out the protien first. I limit my carbs and use the ketosticks to check for ketosis. This seems to help keep me in check as that stick wont turn color if i eat too many carbs.
