Looks like this may be the norm for some of us (light weighters). Thats what my Dr. told me they call people who weigh around 265 a little more or less. He said light weighter lose slower than others. BUT! He also told me that light weighters are more likely to make their goal. I hold on to that thought very tightly. I was 267# and lost 9 before surgery. At the time of surgery I was 258.5# I am now around 212 or so. Thats 46# down in 3 1/2 months. I feel like I'm going a a snails pace. Barbara

Hey Christine, No, you are not the only one. My surgery was 10/6/04 and I think I have reached my first plateau. I am bouncing between -44 to -47 pounds and have not really lost anything the last three weeks. I am getting really frustrated. However, there has been a big change in how my clothes fit. That is the only thing that keeps me going right now. I am so obsessive about this. It took me so long to get approved by insurance and I don't want to be a failure. I have been obese since I was a small child and would like some sense of normalcy for once in my life. I really haven't had many problems. I have stopped weighing myself everyday because it is really getting to me. I try to eat right, I just can't figure out what else to do. Try not to stress out like me, we are all in this together. I just came across your post from the other day and it made me feel so much better. I have been so frustrated!!! My surgery was 10/6/04, was 260 the morning of surgery and I am 218 today (42 pounds in 4 months). I thought by now I would at least be under 200. Reading everyone else's posts made me realize I am not the only one. I see my surgeon on Thursday for my 4 month check up so I will talk to him. I read somewhere that my Hormone Replacement Therapy patch (I had a complete hysterectomy 5 years ago) might slow me down. Thanks to everyone for sharing!!

Christine! Thanks for your post. EVeryones information made me feel much better! I had WLS on 10/18 and started at 282 and now I'm 228. I'm down 54 and I really havn't moved much more then 3 lbs in the last month. I was starting to think this surgery wouldn't work for me. Anyways. I'm glad we aren't alone!! SMiles, Jenny
