how are you all doing with body image??? I can see my toes, see my stomach is shrinking, cross my legs, sit indian style, see my fanny is smaller(the only "real" difference to me?!)... BUT... I still see a big person in the mirror. I guess I still am big, obese, large, fat in most peoples eyes...My family and freinds are all thrilled with my size and changes and talk about the changes, but I don't see a really big change??!! I can see a change in the size and shape of my fanny(Kinda proud of it now), but really, not much else?? How are you handling it??? Janee Cain

count me in on still seeing a big person, I know the weight is going but I just dont see it, I think mainly because its not going from the one place I want it to go ... my stomach. it has gone from my butt for sure but I never much thought I had a big butt. I want my stomach to go but that wil likely be that last place as its the biggest. but 302 pounds is still a big fat man no matter whose eyes are looking . but hell I am happy with being 75 pounds down, and even if I lost nothing else ever would consider this a success. pht pht pht.... that me blowing that curse away, as I for sure dont want to stop losing weight now(g).

I guess we all just need to keep at it and be happy for every little bit of progress and while we still don't feel like supermodels when we look in the mirror maybe we just need to listen when others tell us how they can see the changes. I have only lost 1 size and 41 pounds with 5 inches from my waist andx 3 or 4 from my hips but co-workers and family say they can totally see the difference so I try to let that be my guide. Good Luck!

I am experiencing the same feelings. Everyone tells me how skinny I am getting -- Now, I can admit that I have lost weight, but to me I am not skinny. I think they must mean that I am skinny for me! I am still over 190 pounds, and still see a large person in the mirror. It has helped to boost my confidence -- I just wonder when I will start to see what they are all seeing!

I am right with you all on the body image thing. It took a stern look in the mirror to realize I needed to stop wearing my now baggy clothes...bra straps hanging out is just not cool. So I'm excited about being in smaller clothes and I know I've lost 60 pounds but I see the at least 140 that I have to go and....whee, down the negative talk slide I go. We need to rely on each other to keep our attitudes positive.....this place is a great support to me. Just realizing I am not alone in this journey is of huge benefit. Sending positive, optomistic vibes out to you all!!!! Kat

I agree w/everyone else...........seems like now that I have lost some weight I focus more on my problems, leg's, stomach, etc.....as where in before I was bigger all over- I would just ignore it...... I guess it really is a mental game, and we have to start believing the changes that are happening for real, I get compliments all the time - but I still see all the weight that I need to loose and still feel like the hugest person around..... Wishing everyone a better insight on body image! thumbsup: we can do it!! maggie 318/248/150

I can see the difference in my neck, shoulders and face, but most of what I see on the rest of my body are the saggy baggies. Not very pretty. I'm losing from the top down.

I agree with everyone. I see a difference but it does not seem that much to me. People say oh you are getting skinny. Hey folks I am still 260 lbs and skinny I am not! I guess they think it is cute but when said in front of people you do it know it is kind of embarassing. When I go somewhere to shop, I still go to the very end of the rack where the largest clothes are kept. Even when I try clothes on that are a smaller size I think "Oh this must be mismarked". Or hold it up and say "this will never fit" and it does. I guess my mind will eventually catch up with my body. It sure is exhausting to make several trips from the rack to the dressing room to find the right size. Keep up the good work Sheryl

Wow, it seems like we are all thinking the same thing. I have been having some bad days. Very blue, wishing I was losing faster. Wishing I could see what everyone else was seeing. I was on another board, and heard a great idea. To take a picture of yourself today and hold it up to your before picture, and compare it. I am going to try it. I think it is a great idea. Jean W.
