3 Months Post OP!!!
You had your surgery in Brazil???
I am 4 mo. post-op. Started at 295, then 6 weeks of liquiid diet pre-op prgram and was down to270.
Now I'm 198#!!!!!!!!!!!
I never ever in my life thought I'd celebrate being almost 200#'s!!!LOL
I had my WOW moment at Christmas at my Dad's when my brother came from behind me(after just coming in) and swatted my butt and said "hey, nice rear" and shocked him to see it was me and not his sister-in-law!!!!! Who is much smaller than me!!!! he was soo utterly shocked at my weight loss, the butt whack totally left his mind!!!!
Also, my neighbor down the street, passed me at the grocery store and I nodded at her as I was talking to my son, and when I finally spoke to her, she hadn't known it was me!
I have went from a tight 24/26... to a 16 pants and XL tops!!! Love it!!!
I have actually been seen browsing the ladies dept. instead of the Plus dept.! I am still not sure I will ever be able to shop a regular size? I can't wrap my brain around that.
I am working out(2 weks now) and loving the feeling!!!!

SO sorry I have been away from the boards for a couple of weeks. but my 3 month aniversary was yesterday, I try not to weigh in at home all that often to avoid the frustration of plateau's. but as near as I can figure I am down about 75 pounds since surgery, I am 3 pounds shy of going under 300 pounds, and its been many a moon since that has happened. I have had some crazy plateau's that have lasted three weeks or longer. I walk about 3 miles a day, and have started using hand weights to exercise while I am at my computer. I do spend hours at my computer once I get home and need to stop that and get my fat but to a health club. the one thing I have not been doing is basic exercise that makes me sweat ( I hate to sweat). no crunchs (big mistake if I want that fat around my middle to tighten up any at all). working with the hand weights I hope will strenghthen my upper arms and help with the bat wings I see already starting. not to mention that working the hand weights in the evenings I can do more reps than I would just going to health club. I suppose I average close to 200+ reps of working the hand weight in an evening. I use 8 pound weights which was a bit difficult at first but now I have gotten used to it.
still havign difficulty getting in all my water, some days I can do 40 oz or pure water and about 10 to 20 of 1% milk, but most days I manage only abuot 20 oz of water. I never feel thirsty and still never really feel hungry.
my days conists of eating the following.
B- protein shake with 1% milk - about 35 g of protein( I use proplete gold bannana from bariatric eating .com)
s- if I snack which is rare its on almonds or cube cheese
L- small wendy's chili(half)
D- 1 or 2 oz of lean meat if possible, though I will resort to a cup of tomato soup in 1% milk if im feeling like I just cant do the meat. chicken and dense meat stil giving me fits. hamburger is the easiest on my pouch. and mexican soft tacos or bean burritoes go down easy.
I still sip with meals , which though I know I shouldnt is still something I struggle with.
hope all of you are doing well, and it looks like everyone is doing great from what I can read. have a great day

Today's my 3 month Anniversary and I am down 62 pounds!
Great job everybody. Wow - You guys are amazing.
I started this whole journey last March in my cardiolgists office. I hadn't weighed for a long time since I couldn't find a scale to use. That day I weighed in at 440 pounds. He recommended the surgery and on June 12th I went to my first meeting about the surgery. I had to lose weight to even get an appointment with my surgeon since my BMI was too much. I lost and my pre surgery weight was 360 pounds. I lost 80 pounds before surgery and have lost 76 since the surgery on October 19th. I have been walking since June and in November I joined the local YMCA and go there 5 to 6 times a week.
I really like the idea of this board, and since I found it, I plan to keep checking in here. Thanks for all the encourgement and motivating words.

Hi all,
I am down 47 1/2 pounds since surgery on Oct. 26, 2004 and I have lost 37 1/2 inches as well. I have the measurements taken every 4 weeks, so it is nice to see the inches decrease. I get at least 50-60 grams of protein in a day, I drink at least 48 ounces of water a day and some days I can do 64 ounces. I drink at least 2 cups of fat free milk a day as well. I eat normal and healthy, the difference being the quantity. I exercise every day but Sunday's, I do Curves and the treadmill & elliptical at the local Y. I do compare myself to others, which sometimes is such a bad feeling knowing that I haven't lost as much as others, I started at 308 pre-op and I am down to 260 1/2 now.
My highest weight recorded back in May of 2001 was 372 pounds. Kind of amazing when I see my before and after pictures, I just need to add some to this site.
