Hi, I am updating. I have lost 62 pounds. Tomorrow is my 3 month anniversary. I am feeling so much better these days. I have lost enough weight that people at work are really noticing now. I have a lot more energy also. I got a little GUNG HO! with exercise though. I think I gave myself shin splints in my right leg. I had been taking the stairs at work several times a day and last week I really over did it. Now my shin area on my leg hurts when I walk UGH!!!!! I am using an ace bandage to support it. I hope it heals soon. I am eating alot better now also. I don't really keep careful track of my eating lately though. I eat mostly protein. I eat chicken, beef, fish, nuts, beans, cheese, yogurt, and eggs, and I am also now able to eat a small bit of salad and veggies and a tiny bit of fruit. I don't do breads or cereal or rice well yet. It makes my tummy still feel sickly. I can eat very very small amounts, but I do try to stay away from them mostly. I drink a ton of water and some sugar free fruity drinks like crystal light and Fuse. I don't really drink any protein drinks now because I HATE them. I am pretty happy with my progress so far. Thanks everyone! Robin G DS 10/26/04 in Brazil 249/187/130 down 62 pounds in 3 months

To update on me -- I have lost 71 lbs. so far. Wednesday will be my 4 month update ... People at work are really noticing, and all of my clothes are way too big now. I am gonna have to buy some new ones. In a hurry I stopped at Wal-Mart tonight to get a sweat shirt -- and I just grabbed a 22/24. (Had worn 26/28 prior to surgery or 30/32) The 18 just didnt look big enough. Well, I got home and put it on, and it just hung on me. Its too big!! I went ahead and wore it -- hoping it will shrink some when I wa**** I am eating better .. feeling lots better .. and also have alot more energy. What used to take me probably at least 15 minutes to walk, at work, is now only taking 4-5 minutes. And I am not huffing and puffing. This is GREAT! I am happy with my progress as well. Congratulations, I need to buy some new things, but haven't tried it yet. I still feel awkward going into the "normal" section. I think I am probably a 16 which is down from a 22-24. It is wonderful when you go down clothes sizes!!! WOOHOO for us! Robin G

I am 3 months post op also--I am -70 lbs. I feel so much better. My clothes are really to big, but I am still holding off on buying new ones. It is hard to imagine that only 3 months ago I was at my heaviest weight and in 3 short months, I am back at the weight I was 6-7 years ago. I pray for everyone on this message board, and please keep me in your prayers. Lets all keep up the excellent work! Nichelle 10/20/2004 325/255/150

GREAT thread - congratulations to ALL of us!!!! I'm down 48 pounds since surgery, 66 total. I finally went out and bought some new clothes last night. I mainly wear excercise clothes all day since I am home with the kids, and usually go out to Curves at night. Well, I was at the pharmacy the other day and someone asked when my baby was due. My clothes are SO big - I bought some new "jogging suit" type outfits. Here is a WOW moment htough - about 2 months ago, I was shopping and tried on a new winter coat size XL and it was snug, but I could zip it. Well, I figured for $40, I could wait....who knows what size I will be next year....why waste the money. Well, last night I was in the same store and the coat was on sale for only $19.99....so I grabbed an XL, tried it on and it was still snug but looks so much better than my size 2X I am wearing. I bought it, brought it home and tried it on for hubby - THEN I notice the tag on the inside of the coat....size LARGE. I grabbed, what I thought was, the wrong size......so I am wearing a plain old size L. I also bought some new bras and undies since mine were....well..you all know the story. Its nice to wear a bra that fits now! And to top it off, when I walked into Curves tonight, the manager walked up behind me asking "Can I help you", which I thought was odd since I am there every day...when I turned around, she said "OMG its you - I totally didn't recognize you from the back at all" Of course, I was in my new coat which actually FITS and doesn't make me look 3 sizes bigger........these are the types of things that get me motivated!!! I'll tell ya'...I had a killer workout after that! Jenn 232/184/140

My big WOW moment was a few days ago when I found out for SURE that I weigh LESS than my DH! I was so happy at that moment. I haven't been smaller than him for a very very long time. Congratulations on your great success Jenn! Robin G

I totally understand that strange feeling of being so much smaller now than I was 3 months ago. Today I am smaller than I have been for 21 years (before I started having kids!). I can't even remember feeling this small (and a size 16 isn't really that small, but it feels like it to me!) Congratulations Nichelle! Robin G

Congtrats to all on your weight loss! I to just recently past my three month mark. I have lost 77lbs. I am so excited to se the scale moving in a downward direction instead of up. I am filling my 2nd garbage bag of clothes now. I have to put away clothes about every 2 weeks because they are to baggy. I looking forward to my next milestone of the 100lbs loss. I actually bought clothes a "The Limited for Men" for the first time in my life. The kid who rang me must have thought I was an idiot for as excited as I was over a couple of $10 sweaters. Oh well. It was cool. Looking forward to this summer. I plan to visit a couple of amusement parks since I will actually fit in to the seats now. I am very happy with my progess. Thanks Robert 337/260/195

Hello to all Congratulations on everyones great weight loss! I'm just over 3 months out, down 57 lbs. and been wearing size 20 for a couple of weeks and they are getting bigger by the week Wahoo! I have been walking and a little weight/strenght training, but today I started back in Tae Kwon Do, I had my 1st class tonight with my 6 yr old daughter (it's cool that we can workout together)! It went really well and I still feel good (it didnt kill me). I had been a high green belt before I just got to heavy to continue working out, it was just much. Now I'm down less than what I was when I 1st started TKD. A lot of new faces but still the same awesome workout! I'm hoping by going back to TKD it will help me reach my personal goal, I know the surgery will only do so much and WE have to make the rest happen. I plan to keep walking and strenght training along with my TKD. (wish me luck that I can keep up). I guess my WOW monment this month was when I went out to the store the other day and grabed my DH jacket (XL) off the back of the chair and could not only wear it but zip it up! I dont think he liked it as much as I did. LOL... Good Luck and keep up the great work!!! Sherrie 278/221/145ish 10.12.04 Start of my new healthier life!

I tried TKD a few years ago, but I was way too big and out of shape to even get through the warm up. My kids were taking it at the time and I thought it would help me lose weight. I felt so out of place and awkward. I bet I could do much better now. I might look into it again when my leg feels better. Isn't it exciting to find new things we can do now that the weight is coming off! I can get up and down stairs and out of chairs so much easier! Congratulations Sherrie on your success! Robin G
