This is my first post here. I think it is wonderful to be able to see how people in the same time frame as I am are doing. I am questioning whether or not it is time for my first fill. I also seem to be at a plateau, and over the last three weeks, I haven't lost at all. I had surgery on 10/14, and I am down 45 pounds. I have also been exercising pretty regularly, but during the last couple of weeks, I have really stepped it up. Yet the scale won't move. The thing is, I sometimes have great restriction, and sometimes it is like the band isn't even there. I still throw up sometimes, especially with certain meats, and bread products. So what do you all think? Is it time?

I think we all hit a plateau at 3 mos. I do not know anything about the band. I wouldnt even know where to begin. Sounds like you are right on track though as far as your weight loss. I get sick on certain meats as well. On the band isnt it usually every 3 mos?

Welcome!!! Love the way you spell your name!! We all stall at 3 mo., must be a physiological response to our rapid wt. loss by the body! Kinda like,"Uh? What? I wasn't paying attention, just been looking for that twinkie fix!! What no twinkie???? Not ever??? &^%*&^%%&&*&&!! ...HALT!"LOL Nope, sorry no more twinkie!!! Now let's make a deal... now wait till the body says, "OOOOOOKKKKKK, I give up. What we gonna do now??" Hey, good for you on the workouts! Bears repeating..."muscle weighs more than fat!!" and you are trading "lite" fat for denser muscle tissue. Funny uhhh? Now, who has a sence of humor...Fat is lighter than Muscle!!!?? Don't loose your energy or drive... keep up the great work! Janee

Hi all.... Meryll, I'm glad you posted this. I've been very frustrated this week because I seemed to have stalled out all of a sudden and haven't lost anything for a week. UGH! I guess we all just need to keep doing what we are doing and have faith that the plateau will burst forth in more weight gone forever! Keep on keeping on! Kat

Meryll, I was banded a week before you and you'll know if you need a fill if you are no longer loosing weight, you get hungry between meals and you dont feel the restriction. There are some thing you may never be able to eat again. I also still throw up or as I put it caugh up a hair ball once in a while. I cant eat Fried chicken even with the skin removed and bread just doesnt settle, Its like eating paste and it fills my band in seconds. You might try visiting the lap band board as well. From the main page you'll see other boards click on the arrow and it will bring the option for the lap band board. There are over 300 people who have been banded that post on the baord daily. Good luck to you and call your Dr. to talk about the Fill options. I had my 1st fill 6 weeks after surgery and I Love my band. Gail
