Come on people!
My surgeon only has a support group once a month so I check in on this board everyday looking for advice and tips from my peers who had surgery the same month I did. Like the other Christine said, we see lots of people viewing messages but little or no replies. I would love to see this board come alive so come on people lets get this board moving!! Tell us about your progress, your frustrations, let's all help each other out. We all chose to have this major life changing surgery now let's share share our thoughts, stories and goals so that we can have this big support system.
I noticed that myself. I check in on this board quite frequently, and never see any new posts to speak of. I love to see how everyone is doing, and to compare my progress. But when no one is posting their info, it's hard. I don't always have the time to initiate posts, but I love to reply!!! And there is not one person that can honestly say that they don't like getting praise from others - because I for one do! I have come a long way, and I like to share it with others too. And I hope we can all start or continue doing that too!!!
With our lifestyle (Retired and full time RVers) I never get to make it to support meetings. I rely on this board for support and I am glad to see what others are doing. My doctor told me once never to compare weight loss with other patients as each of us lose differently, BUT I can't help myself!! I get busy if I see others are losing and I am not, and I definitely think thats a plus, especially when I hit those lazy days!
My plateau continues.... but I am hanging in there!!

Hey Ladie - busy day with the kids and didn't have much time to get online. I had a great day - really watched my food and only ate 3 meals...not a single snack PLUS I went to Curves. I played hard with the kids and I put a good CD on and danced around with them for over an hour. Not only did I get a great workout, the kids thought I was the coolest thing going, letting them rock out in the kitchen and run around singing at the top of our lungs!!!
I just came of a plateau where I stayed the same for a little over 3 weeks. I finally dropped a couple of pounds, but here I am, a week later and I am the same. This weekend was rough - being snowed in, I ate TOO much junk. Since I don't dump, it was easy to reach for those comfort foods. I feel so much better today since I ate good and excercised yesterday and today.....now I just have to keep it up. Have a great night!!

Hello Christine,
I also only get to one meeting a month with a local support group, which I really enjoy, but my surgeon is not involved with this group. I had my surgery in St. Louis Mo. and I live about 4 hours from there, so I don't make it to there groups. I do still hope to get to one sometime in the future. I also use the main board and the Missouri board more than the Oct. 2004 board.
I had my surgery 10.12.04. I'm down -57lbs. and 2 sizes on pants. I have been walking and tonight I started back in Tae Kwon Do. It went really well, better than I thought! I'm hoping that with continuing walking and working out in my TKD class 2 times a week for 45-60 min. this will help me continue to my personal goal of 145ish...
My eating is not too good the last couple of days, just not hungery..even have to tell myself to eat (whats up with that LOL). But I have been getting my protein and fluids so I okay with that.
I hope everyone is doing great and lets all keep our heads high and stay focused on our WLS journey.
Good Luck!
Sherrie
