Plateau's
Most of the people I know have stalled right around the three month mark.
I lost just 8 pounds between my 2 week check and my 6 week check up. and none for a couple weeks after that.
At my three month appointment I had lost a total of 37# Then the next week I dropped 7# in a couple days. this week I have only gone down 1#.
Yes it can get very discouraging on a plateau or even a 2 week stall.
Just hang in there, remember Water and protein are our best friends and the weight will start to come off again.

BLAH plateau's we all have em. I think we need em or else wed evaporate if we continually lost for a year and a half Mine last from a week to two weeks and yes sometimes i gain although its usually under a three pound gain thats gone in a week. UP and Down and staying at the same weight can be frustrating BUT there are many things that infuence our weight such as time of day ...ladies time of month...how much salt we may or may not have ate.... Try not to sweat the small stuff relax and when you find you are getting peed off at a stall think when was the last time ya lost this much weight and knew it will stay off and as an added bonus felt this GOOD about it... For me i can say NEVER...relax and then read this post in another two months and have a good laugh.

Yep, plateaus suck. I usually get stuck for 2 weeks then lose 4 - 5 lbs. They said the weight loss would slow down but who's a thought at 3 months out, not me. It does help to know others are experiencing this depressing occurance.
If anyone has found a way to get over the plateau hump, please pass it along. My water, protein, and vitamins are at the recommended levels. I do have an appointment with a personal trainer this afternoon. I am considering joining 24 Hour Fitness and am on a 10 day free trial. Maybe that will help me get over the hump!!
Hold your head high, we are all doing great!

Yes...me too! I am down 55# since Oct. 22 and it "seems" like a year ago I was celebrating the 50# hurdle. However, I'm like all of you. I seem to sit still for a week or two then down it goes 2-3#s suddenly. I have to remind myself that we will continue to lose for 12-18 months so even if it slows down...it will still be better than ANYTHING done in the past. Also, the weird thing is I carry around water bottles all day, but they are rarely emptied. I don't know about all of you, but I am just now able to get down 2-3 ounces of meat at one sitting. I am drinking more milk, though. I know I should work on increasing the protein and water, but right now...I'm doing all I can without getting sick. I avoid nausea at all costs. My dr. did NOT recommend protein drinks so I'm working with the diet he gave me. Mostly, I think we are all doing great! Keep it up WLS buddies!

Hey everyone,
I also hit a plateau at about 12 weeks and was really discouraged. I wanted to throw my scale across the room. In a way though the scale keeps me honest. I eat mostly eggs and cheese as my protein, however there are times where i have had cheese "goldfish" if i want a snack, which is a carb and a no no. Once i did start exercising the plateau seem to move a little. I do agree though, my clothes are falling off, so i try not to let the scale run my life, if your clothes are falling off, dont let the damn scale get you down
I am glad i am not the only one. !
