She had been in the hospital since the day of her surgery. She had been there for at least 6 mos (I think) ---I think she had a bad surgeon who didnt really take care of her. This doctor has since disappeared and left half of his patients hanging. I am glad though that he is no longer doing this surgery. I have alot of friends who were going to use him because he was the only one who would take voc rehab.
I just want to express to everyone how IMPORTANT it is to take care of ourselves. TAKE YOUR SUPPLEMENTS - GET IN YOUR PROTEIN - AND DRINK YOUR WATER... Just do it!
I dont want to lose any of yall...
I am so sorry to have heard of Hughlene Gray's death. I did not know her but I express my condolences to the family and friends. I had my surgery Oct. 6th in Charleston SC with a wonderful doctor. Dr. Sabback. I have not started my protein yet or my vitamins. I am taking my iron pills. After seeing this I think I need to get on the ball. Again I am so sorry to hear that she lost her life.
I was also "almost" a statistic...Please be careful Post op. If you have ANY doubt a symptom you are feeling is "usual" or not, PLEASE CALL YOUR surgeon or Primary Care Doc. I had RNY on October 18, 2004 3 days later an obstruction and second surgery, then finally home after 10 days in Hospital. I was home 3 days and couldnt breathe....Massive pulmonary Emboli.....5 more days in Hospital and then home for a month, then I got pneumonia.... 3 more days in Hospital....Please take care of yourselves! K.
