B - Low Carb Speacial K with skim milk and blueberries L - 1 breaded, baked chicken leg, 1/2 c mashed potatoes S - 10 oz skim milk D - Smart Ones Roast Beef with broccoli (Low Carb) Had 2 protien drinks, 10 oz decaf tea. fluids were about 60 oz total. 810 cal, 30 fat, 63 carbs, 79 protein. Too much fat and carbs, - I ate the skin from the chicken...and the potatoes always throw my carbs way over. But I am so proud of myself for getting in so much prtoien AND more than 20 oz fluid! I did go to Curves today...three days in a row with the excercise!!!! The Smart Ones meal I ate had 26 protein!!! It was the perfect size and I ate every bite. It was one of the new "Truth About Carbs" ones. I am not impressed with the chicken ones...but the beef ones are good - especially the Salisbury Steak. YUM! Jenn

Hey those numbers look good. I dumped real bad on cereal once so I havent tried it again. But that cereal you had looks pretty good. I have switched from skim milk back to whole milk and tolerate it a lot better... plus it doesnt make me gag. Those Smart Ones Meals look good too. You did great on your protein! -63

Ya, I wish I could have resisted that chicken skin though - it was 10 grams of fat right there!!! I have tried a couple of low carb cereals - one is called Carb Well from Post and literally tastes like cardboard. I was hesitant to try the Special K, but I love cereal. Its good - I have to add Splenda to it...but the crunch is wonderful and the taste is not bad at all - especially when I add blueberries or a half of a banana. In fact...I am about to go have some right now.... Here is the nut. info if you like: 3/4 c serving - 100 calories 3 fat 9 net carbs (14 total carbs) 5 gr fiber (this has been helping SOOOO much - I went from going maybe once a week to EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!) 2 sugars and 10 protein! And of course, its got a bunch of viatmins and minerals too. I am so surprised at myself for, at only 3.5 months out, already falling into some bad habbits and needing to "recommit". I always thought once I had this surgery, I would be so strict and do everything the dr and nutritionist said. Its so easy to slip back into old ways, huh? You are doing fabulous - I only had surgery 1 day before you and you have blown me away by 20 pounds! I have only lost 45 since surgery date, 65 since I began the process. Way to go - any tips?? jenn

By looking at your profile and trying to estimate --Looks like you started out lighter than me. Morning of surgery I was 266. I have lost 63. The smaller you are the slower you lose. Thats what I have heard anyway. A girl in my support group had hers 1 week after me and has lost only 40 pounds. But she was 229 on her surgery morning. I think this is probably what is going on. My doc says its good to be a slow loser. Helps the skin from being as saggy. So, thats a good thing... I havent lost anything in about 2 weeks. I dont know if its a plateau or my birth control. Doc just took me off of Nuva Ring and I put the patch on this morning. He said I am retaining fluid from the Birth control. Its frustrating. But what can I do??

I just came off a plateau - I didn't lose a single pound for over three weeks. Its finally starting to come down again. Its very frustrating, huh? My dr assures me I am right on track, in fact, he said I should only expect to lose 5 - 7 pounds per month now. He told me he only thought I would lose 7 - 10 pounds last month, and I lost 14...so in his eyes, I am doing better than "average". I still wi**** would come off quicker - its so funny. If I could have ever lost 14 pounds in one month pre-op I would have thought I was fabulous. We expect too much from ourselves. Besides these past 3 weeks, I am perfectly happy with my losses so far. As far as birth control - you could just be like me and NEVER have any nookie. My poor husband! Hey, I have a 30 month old DIVA for a daughter, and a 15 month old son who is about to have surgery to remove a cyst growing near his brain...and I do home day care with 4 other children. Between diapers, tantrums, MOUNTAINS of housework...puh-leeeze......(did I mention my mom & dad live across the street? Think "Everybody Loves Raymond".....that is our lives)

I am so frustrated with not losing. It is taking a toll on me. I want to strangle my husband. This is so personal but I dont understand why men hate condoms. I just think he is being selfish. I am having to have BC which is hendering my weight loss because he doesnt like to wear condoms. It kinda is under my skin. If it were up to me I would never have any nookie.. haha... It kills me to get up every morning and see the scales sitting still at 203. I did the weight loss calculator and I have lost 59% of the weight I need to lose. But I still have 41% to lose. I cant help but wonder if I am just going to lose 59% and thats all. I am so sorry to hear about your little boy. Is he ok? I know that must be stressful. And a daycare at home... Pheww... You got nerves of steel. I can barely handle my 1 most of the time.. couldnt imagine that many. Talk to you soon... going to sulk!

Hey Christine - I don't think its just your husband who feels that way about condoms. Mine complains each time I make him use one. I just tell him he can always call the dr and go get a vasectomy if he would prefer. I spent the first 4 years on BC...then the next 3 years pregnant and having babies....so its his turn. We don't want any more kids - so its pretty logical for him to go get snipped - its SO much less invasive than for a woman to have her tubes tied (or so I've heard). Men - why are the ALWAYS in the mood? Mine will fall asleep watching tv downstairs, stumble up to bed at 3AM and WAKE me to fool around. AS IF......I would never give up SLEEP for nookie. I tell him all the time - if you are interested, come see me around 9PM - when the kids are good & asleep and I've gotten all my end-of-the-day crap done...but before I am asleep. My son - yes, I am sure he will be fine. Since the day he was born, I noticed a small hair growing below the eyebrow line, smack in between his eyes. I mentioned it several times to the nurse practicioner at his pediatrician's office and she dismissed it each time. At his 9 month check, we saw the real pediatrician and I showed him. He immediately said its a symtom of a dermoid cyst. We got it checked, and sure enough - thats what it is. Its not hurting him now, but eventually it will grow and interfere with his brain....so its being removed a week from Wednesday. He will be in the PICU for about 3 - 4 nights. The drs at the hospital we are going to (Dartmouth Hitch**** Medical Center) are amazing and we trust them totally! They are great up there and have a "Pain-Free" children's program. Anyway - thanks for your concern about him - it will be a stressful couple of days, but we are looking forward to getting it over and done. The scale didn't move for me again today. I stayed at 186 for those 3 - 4 weeks...I am down to only 184 now. That's what I was at yesterday, and again today - the same. I did take some mineral oil, and ate a bowl of Kashi Go Lean last night for my snack...that got things moving along and hopefully that was the reason I didn't see a loss this morning. We'll see tomorrow. If you can tolerate it - you should try the Low Carb Special K or Kashi. I'm certainly no expert, but I think the extra calories, and ALL that fiber helped me come off my plateau. Talk to you tomorrow - have a good day! Jenn
