Surgery Date: 10/20/04 Pre-op Weight: 383 Current Weight: 321 Total Loss: 62#'s Feeling great, have some good and bad days, I can eat pretty much anything except carbs (potatoes, rice, pasta) they make me feel really sick even in small quantities. I do eat shrimp, fish, steak, ground beef, chicken has to be in some sort of sauce or gravy or else it gets stuck. I have only thrown up once since surgery and that was w/ a minute piece of breaded fi****ake in 1 protein shake or bar a day and get in a minimum of 40 oz. of water daily, and 1 cup of 1% milk. I have 1 cottage cheese pretty much every morning, a high protein lean cuisine or weigh****chers carb control for lunch and dinner is usually some protein w/ veggies, I snack (when I feel the need) on cashews, cheese, and luncheon meats. If I haven't had a good eating day I will end the night w/ 3/4 of a cup of high protein Total and 1/2 c of 1% milk. I still haven't been told I can have fruits other than 1/2 a banana every now and then and I still am not allowed to eat salads. I am craving sushi but was told to stay away from it for at least 6 months. I am so greatful to this site, all of you and everyone that has supported me. I think we are all doing fantastic and I just want to enjoy every day of it!

hi there presurgery 283 5feet 8 inches current weight 233 total loss 50 on the nose i think 50 is great!!! went from 24/26 to 18 some 16. I eat just about everything. Steak is great i get it from a butcher and make him cut it into slivers and takes all of 1 min to cook. Every three days i have a steak and milk day to get in as much protein as i can. I find though that I dump on too much sugar. Cranberry jelly really did a number. I am good with milk tolerate it real well thank heavens as i love my milk. Chicken is good too although i have to be real careful or it gets stuck. There isnt anything really that has caused me misery although i am careful with refined sugar. I find though that i am mostly consitpated alot and that every week or so i have the dumping thing soooo i guess in a painful way its keepin it in check. Anyone else going through this? Excersize I started snowboarding with the kids. Ive the bruises to prove it too!!! Got a seasons pass and getting to hill at least 4 times a week. WOW things. Im starting to like shopping for clothes again. Im wearing makeup again and doing my hair. People are really noticing a difference. I am starting to get my energy back!!!! I no longer feel like a fat slob!!! Im not skinny yet but ill get there. Im not having that thing with seeing a fat person in the mirror if anything sometimes I think i am smaller than I am. Who would have thought it guess some vanity is starting to creep in...how woulda thought it. I can get into any booth and I am amazed how far away the table is. Hair holding steady no bald patches yet. thats about it for now congratulations to all of us we come a long way baby!!!! kindest regards deborah gale

I've lost 53 lbs. I hate water and am not fond of Crystal Lite--to strong and sweet, and I've had trouble finding a satisfying drink. So far tomato juice is good. I've had a little bit of watered down diet sodas--just sips. I've tried most of the foods except salad and raw veggies. I don't have any problems unless I eat too fast or take big bites. I'm probably not getting in all my protein but I can't take the protein drinks. I can do a small half sandwich with meat and cheese for lunch, or half can chunky soup. I eat out a lot and can do a small slice of pizza, taco without the veggies, most chicken things and fish things (shrimp ****tail is great). I don't always stop eating when I should and pay for it later. I have a lot more energy and go to Curves 3x week. It's fast and easy and fits the bill for me.

Surgery: Oct 4th Weight before surgery: 294 Weight now: 209 LOSS: 85#'s Had my 3 month checkup today and it turns out that I am doing well with losing fat (76 # so far) instead of muscle (only 8# lost) so that is going well. Exercise if you aren't doing it already. Foods are not a problem, Everything seems to be going down well, and there isn't much I havent tried (except sugar). Water is going well too. I get 100-150oz in per day. My blood tests came back perfect, no deficiencies. I can come off the reglan and previcid in the next month. THings are looking good for me and congrats to everyone on here, we are all doing well!! Dan

Still down 61 pounds..... the scale just won't budge. Been having trouble getting my protein in....... but got my Magic Bullet in the mail yesterday! It's really a wonderful gadget! I've doubled my protein! If you mix a scoop of any whey into grapefruit juice and add a few ice cubes or frozen berries, it tastes great! Can't wait to try frozen coffee! Tonight I'm having some eggplant parma! Yummy Sandi

Surgery: Lap RNY Oct 26, '04 Pre-op: 340 Current: 278 Lost: 62 lbs (yay!) According to my doctor, I can eat just about anything...WRONG! LOL I do not tolerate carbs well. And my life long love affair with chicken is on hold. I tolerate fish well. I really enjoy Wendy's Chili. And with a fondness for Starbucks, I start my day off with a latte (decaf with skim milk of course) about 7 am and then eat breakfast about 2 hours later. I have had a complication with a stricture. I have been diliated twice and have an appt to see my gastro doc again tomorrow morning. I think I will have to be diliated AGAIN! It doesn't hurt, but it is annoying as *&$# LOL Pam

Surgery: Oct 14, 2004 Weight before surgery: 255 lbs. Weight Now: 201 lbs. Total Loss: 54 lbs Oh, what a journey I am on. I am so excited. I have really been doing well. I have had trouble with chicken and salads. I do very well with beef, pork and fish. I drink alot of water. I really like the propel water. It is a change from plain water. I enjoy fruit and vegetables. I have not tried anything sweet. I am scared I will dump. I tried cheese cake with splenda and it was tasty. I only had a sliver though. I keep very busy and I have been walking. I got out of it for a few weeks because I was busy with the holidays but I am getting back into the swing of things. Excercise is very important. My energy level is great. For the first time in a long time I can play with my kids w/o getting so tired and so short of breath. I still have a long way to go but with God by my side and people like all of you I can do it. I am so proud of each and everyone and May God Bless all of yall. Terri R.

I'm also getting ready to start back into Tae Kwon Do at the end of the month. I was a high green belt before I just got to heavy to handle the workouts. I started working out w/Tae Bo tapes this week also. I feel really good and want to enjoy my new healthier life! I can't wait until I can go on my 1st over night back packing trip! I want to pack in and pack out all on my own, the last time I tried that I was about 255 and got in fine but had to have a horse rider finish taking out my pack, I did walk all the way out w/out my pack. Good Luck to all and keep up the great work!! Sherrie -53 10.12.04 Start of my new, healthier life!
