OCTOBER ROLL CALL.....
I want to wish everyone a propserous New Year. We have so much to look forward to in this coming year. I am so excited.
So, it is time for us to "toot our own horns"! In addition to posting our weight loss, let's add what we are eating. Everyone has different food plans, I think it would be fun to see what everyone is eating. It's not mandatory, just if you feel like it. Also, if you have an issues or success hints, let's pass them along.
Surgery: Oct 11th
Weight before surgery: 334
Weight now: 260
LOSS: 74#'s
I have not been very adventurous in my eating. The only red meat I have eaten is ground beef and very little of that. I love fish so my main food is shrimp, salmon, talapia, crab, tuna, and occasionally lobster. I eat fish 2 times a day. Protein first! Plus for breakfast I have a canned protein shake that has 35 g of protein. I also try to have fresh vegetables and fruit each day.
I am a little afraid to try meat or chicken. I have heard from so many people that chicken gets stuck and red meat does not digest well. I was told that the first 6 months are the "honeymoon" so I am trying to make the most of it.
I don't always get all my water in but I am usually close to 64 oz.
So, how are you doing?
Sheryl
Happy New Year everyone!!!
I am down 50 lbs now (15 pre and 35 post) and feel absulutely fabulous. Started at 285 (by my scale, docs a little higher) and now 235. I have had no complications along the way and have not had a problem eating anything I have tried. I can eat all meats, beef, chicken, pork and fish ( I make great teriyake pork tenderloin medallions). Dinner tonight was fish. Lunch was leftover chicken, steak, provolone from Perfect Pita restaurant on a little lettuce with small amout of salad dressing. I am able to get 2 protein shakes in a day plus my 3 meals. I actually have no trouble with dumping either, so I am careful to avoid sweets anyway. I love mandarin oranges. I drink alot of decaf tea with splenda since I can get more of that in than plain water. Working more excercise into my day but (and I know some will say its an excuse) I have a 19month old daughter that takes up sooo much time after working the whole day.
Nighty night, its time for bed. Good luck to everyone.
Heather
Hi Everyone
DS 10/26/04
249/197/130
down 52 pounds in 10 weeks
I don't have any food restrictions, I can eat anything I want, but I do have to get my protein in first AND my water. After that I can eat anything that I like. I am trying to stick to low carb high protein stuff right now. I have to eat slowly and can only take in about 4-6 ounces at once. I have to eat every 3-4 hours during the day while I am awake or I get too hungry and nauseated. I seem to have lost my desire for sweets, chocolate, and most junk food right now. I guess that is a good thing! I eat alot of eggs, soups, yogurt, lean meats, cheese, peanut butter, some veggies and I LOVE oranges right now. I don't really have to drink protein drinks as long as I can get my required protein in which is good because I HATE the protein drinks YUCK!

Start Weight 245 (or 260 depending on where you start)
Current Weight 205 sooo looking forward to the "under 200lb" mark
Goal 149 minimum
Lost 35 inches and down 5 sizes.
Still get queezy when I eat meats. Turkey and chicken makes Pouchy Grouchy.
Cheese agrees with Pouchy. As does fruits and most vegatables.
I drink Propel to help with my fluid intake, and hot tea with a dash of FF Hazelnut creamer.
Thank GOD for fitday.com. It's a life saver for Nutrition dummies like me.
Am exercising 3 x a week, and make extra effort to park away from buildings so I have to walk and I take the stairs instead of elevator at work.
Applause for all Oct babies!!!

Hello everyone!!!
Surgery: Oct 18th
Weight before surgery: 318
Weight now: 258
LOSS: 60#'s
I guess we all go through the feelings that we are loosing too slow, I know I do!!! I joined the gym this week, and I hope that gettin into an excercise routine will help me out w/the weight loss.....I know it's hard not to compare, but we should all be proud of our accomplishments I eat alot of fish, chicken, as long as it's grilled or bake - I can eat it good, I haven't gotten sick, thank God, I also eat alot of steamed and raw veggies.....I'm working on the protein - my Dr. does not recommend protein shakes....he wants us to get it from our meals.... I also eat plenty of cheese!!! I am still afraid to try meat other than chicken, haven't had any, but I really don't crave it......
Wishing everyone the best in their journey, and well hopefully weight loss will increase for me- by the next update!

Hi there,
Presurgery: 379
Now : 294
I've lost 85 total pounds since I started this journey and I feel great. I've been eating a lot of salad lately. I've also had a thing for mushrooms for some reason. I eat peanuts and sunflower seeds frequently too. I can tolerate most any foods, except for milk. Milk for some reason makes me dump big time. I'm getting in 60 to 90 grams of protein a day. Water intake fluctuates, it is so hard to remember to drink the water. I usually eat 1 small meal a day. I still never get hungry, but I do get the head hunger still. I avoid the high carb garbage that I used to eat before surgery.
