I'm 11 wks out today and I'm wondering if everyone is cold all the time? I have such a hard time keeping warm. If the room temp. is comfortable to me...my family is complaining about how hot it is. I find myself piling on the blankets at night and shivering during the day. Does our changing weight confuse our body's temp.? Karla (-59.5)

Hey Karla Congrats on your weight loss. I had a hysterectomy in 2003 and stayed hot all the time, since the surgery it has definitely been the opposite. I don't know what does it, but it does happen. Lisa 382/328 -54

Hey Karla, Tomorrow I will be 10 weeks out and yes, I find myself cold all the time... I can be comfortable in the house and my family and friends are burning up... It is very strange how this happens... but it's because our body is eating all the fat... so now we are cold internally... Wonder if it ever gets better the further out we get... Glad to see everyone is doing such a great job... keep up the good work.. Leslie 326/264/170 -62 lbs

Yep, I am always cold now. I also have severe anemia so the surgeon said this would also make me colder. I also find that my back is the coldest and I was always warm before surgery. I carry a sweater everywhere!

Hi there -- I am always freezing too! I have heard that its because of the rapid weight loss and low calorie intake, that we are cold now. However, at about 3-4 months out, it should go back to "normal". We'll see....... as I am right at 3 months tomorrow.

Hi Karla Cold here also, I'm 2 months and 2weeks out and for the 1st time in a very long time, I can now sleep w/out a box fan running all night. LOL Now it's more like... is it cold in here or I need a blanket. Not at all the way I was be for WLS. Sherrie -51 10.12.04 start of my new healthier life!

Yup Karla, You are not alone! I have the house temp sitting at 80 degrees right now and still have to sleep with three comforters and flannel sheets. Kind of my fault too, though, because I still need my fan for white noise - pleases the hell out of my husband! It is the first winter I can remember ever wanting a jacket (and wouldn't you know that I can't find an affordable one that fits!) Well, just think about how much better this is than being hot all the time (if you were - I know most of us were, anyway!). I'll definitely take this over being hot, its so much easier to warm up than cool down. And, I've heard this cold snap varies for different people - I've talked with a few postops three or four years out that still get cold easy. As they say, everyone's different... Take care, Rachel
