Hello all - hope you had a wonderful Christmas. Here is what I ate yesterday: B - spinach quiche (no crust) L - 1.5 scallops wrapped in bacon, 1/4 c steamed carrots D - 1/2 grilled cheese on light oat & fiber bread S - 1 wedge laughing cow cheese & 3 whole wheat crackers protien drink Drank alot of skim milk all day - probably about 24 oz!!! I have been craving milk so much and I can drink it pretty quick...feels so good to take a gulp of something cold. I can do this with my protein drink as well, but if I take a gulp of water, I get such cramps!? Weird, huh? I did really well over Christmas - well, I ate a bit too much at our traditional Christmas Eve chinese food fest. I had 1/2 beef teriyaki and some pork egg foo yong SOOOO good but too greasy with that gravy and I felt a bit yucky for about an hour. Christmas day I had a little prime rib (my first time cooking it and it was GREAT!) and a bite of potatoes and some carrots. HOW cool is it to be able to walk away from a holiday meal without feeling like I am going to explode and all that guilt?! NICE....... Jenn -41 (-59 total)

OH My Goodness!! I was reading over the previous "what did you eat today posts" and I can't believe the things you guys can manage to eat (I'm jealous!). I have had 3 didlitations since surgery on Oct 13th and cant eat any meat or juice. A normal day of eating for me is still only about 2-3 tbl spoons of food total for the day. I am lucky if I can get in about 24 oz of fluid a day. I eat cottage cheese, cheese, broth, mashed potatos, and dry cheerios. That pretty much covers everything I can stomach. Is everyone able to eat but me? Jodi -62 pounds (68 total)

Hi, I had surgery on 10-6-04 and have had 2 endoscopy/dilations since. Right after the first one (at which time they removed 2 loose staples), I have been able to eat everything that was on the sheets the dieticians gave to us. Turkey, chicken, hamburger, etc. Sometimes I cannot tolerate the lunch meats, like from the deli at the store, but I can eat the cooked turkey meat like you would have at Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. I'm still having a problem getting all the liquids in, though. I have lost 58lbs to-date. This morning, I wanted a piece of toast, jelly, and bacon, soooooo bad. So I went ahead and got it - ate it, but it just sat there real heavy. I ended up getting sick. But then at lunch time, I had 1/2 of a personal size, cheese pizza from ARNI's!!!! It was real good -- first time for that, and it stayed down fine! Food is wierd .. you just have to try it, and if it dont work, it dont. If it does, it does. ??? I havent had too much bread yet, because I was afraid to try it, since we arent to have it for 1 year (per my dietician) ... but I have to say that I have experimented a little bit.

I'm like you. I can't each much. I complained to the doctor that even getting 1/3 of a cup of food is too much. He says I'm alright. He said the key is how I look and feel. It still bugs me at times when I see what others can eat. My diet consists of (3 Tablespoons) of either cottage cheese. chili, or blended chicken into gravy on top of 1/4 cup mashed potatoes. I had forgotten peanut butter for the last couple of weeks but started it yesterday. Its kind of a snack or to settle my stomach. I put it on a teaspoon and eat it. I can drink 1/2 cup of soups but they can't have noodles in them. Just plain soup. I've tried eggs a couple of times but they came right up. So I'm with you. Can't each much of anything. Right now hot tea is how I'm getting my liquids. Good luck and I'm glad to see I'm not alone. Betty

I ate lots of food today. 1/2 English muffin with Peanut butter 2-3 ozTurkey, 2tbsdressing, gravy, 2tbs potatoes (all fit into a saucer size plate) took a long time to eat it. 2oz beef jurkey 1.5 ounces of trail mix 1 peanut butter cup (tiny sized) 36 ounces of water so far. still have to have dinner in there somewhere. It is only 5pm here! That is probably a very typical amount of food for me to eat most days. Robin G DS 10/26/04 249/203/130's down 46 pounds in 8.5 weeks
