Off track
I have been very bad. I can't seem to eat right. I stay hungry all the time. I swore today I was going to get back on track, but it did not happen. I tried making a protien drink and just will not drink it. I made a roast last night and keep eating potatoes (which is a no-no). Thank goodness I didn't put much potatoes in it. Do you think I should go back to liquids till I can work these hunger issues out? Do you think I am going crazy?( I do and So does the hubby) I even went out in bought a can of boiled peanuts. I know I need to drink more ( I have only had maybe 5 oz of fluid today and it is 5 pm) should i just drink plain water if i just can't get that protein in? I am just venting I will try again tommorow to do things right. Merry Christmas everyone and thanks for letting me go crazy...
love ya bunches,

Hi Lisa,
Yep, I know how it is. I've done the same thing. Mayhaps we could make a new commitment and start this over together. I realy need to cut out the carbs and get some protein in.
I do well for a day and slip right back the next. I know I'm not hurting anyone but myself. And I didn't go though this surgery just to sabotarge myself.
What say you? Lets get it together, together?
Big hugs, Barbara
I dont much care for the protien drinks either so i just get it other ways in meats and supliments. Dont beat yourself up too much if you dot liek em many dont what is important is to get your fluids in while the drinks are best if you find you just cant commit then have some water jiuce tea whatever but get that liquid in. I drink tea and water and juice and coffee i found it helped with the chapped lips and the dry mouth i constantly am dirnking and i find that it just swishes right through i can almost take normal drinks now id love to chug but im not that brave to try Going back to liquids i wouldnt go that far cause your bound to only make yourself miserable just try drinking more to curb the hunger I get hungry alot and find that even one bite will tide me over and get me over the (i can eat a whole cow feeling) for a little while ususally about an hour.
We could do a daily thing where we post what we ate im game if anyoie else is. It will also give us a clue to how much or how little we are eating compared with our surgery buddies..
kindest regards
deb
sounds good Lisa.
Deb, Sheryl glad to have you with us.
Today was a bad one for me. I didn't get up in time for breakfast. And all I could find for lunch was ravioli. It has 8gms protein but also 32gms countable carbs. I had pork for dinner, 4 oz. for 32gms protein. Now if I only left out the 1/4 cup rice.
I'm going to make a protein shake , Now I need to make myself drink it and not just toss it down the sink on my way to bed.
Bless you all, Barbara
Ok - I want in too. I have been eating way too many carbs and skipping protein at meals - and I haven't had a protein drink in 5 days. I can actually feel the difference in my body. I feel sluggish. BUT today I had a 2 month post-op with my nutritionist and she read my "brutally honest" food journal and freaked out on me. I felt so bad when I left there - came home and had a protien drink AND had chicken for lunch...NO carbs so far today. No more crackers, chips or orange juice for me...there are enough ymmuy things that are better for me - I have just been lazy the past 2 weeks.

Hey Jenn,
It's Nina, have you tried having a protein bar for a snack instead of a shake? I find them much easier to digest. I am buying the zone bars. I might have already told you about them. You know what else I have been eating to get in my calcium- viactiv chews they are yummy, you almost feel as though you are eating candy! I will email you later, I have been wanting to today anyway I just wanted to reply to your post.
Nina
Hi Jenn....Carbs are bad bad bad... Haha....
I learned the hard way. I realized that Carbs continued to make me hungrier and hungrier... I cut them out one day and started eating my proteins again and the hunger went away and I am feeling full quicker.
At thanksgiving I found myself eating the softer foods that were like dressing, potato salad, rice, etc.... I was always hungry. I ate on those leftovers for several days and I stalled on my weight loss. I went back to the basics and had shakes and wendys chili and I started losing again.
You can do it. You are doing really good...

Hi! Remember when you think you're hunger its in your head, you're not really hungry. The look and smell of good food makes you think you want to eat, these are old habits. You're not crazy. I find myself going to the refrigrater several times in the evening just looking whats in there and I'm not hungry, its habit, not necessity, remember why you started this journey. You want to eat to live, not live to eat. Take it slow, start pacing yourself when you eat, remember to chew your food 35 times each bite and put your folk or spoon down and wait 15 minutes before you take another bite. If you don't follow the rules, you'll stretch your pouch and guess what, you're right back where you started from before the surgery. Hang in there, you're in my thoughts and prayers for strength to over come this. Remember the mind a strong device and it does take over even if we don't want it to sometimes.
