, Time once again for the check-in. Tell us how you're feeling, any food difficulties, WOW moments, end-of-month goals, etc... Me: Stats: 6 weeks post-op, -34lbs. Feeling: Great but exhausted . Mentally, I feel like I had surgery months ago. However, physically, my body is shouting "if this crazy chick refuses to realize she's still recuperating then we'll just have to slow her down the hard way!". Food Difficulties: I blessed in that I can basically eat anything EXCEPT juice-like (Nectar, Isopure) protein shakes . I think its the aspartame but that's still under investigation. WOW Moment: We sit at chairdesks in school. At the beginning of the semester I always had to leave the desk portion up because it wouldn't fit across my belly. On my first day back to school post-op, I decided on a whim to give it a try and surprise it fit -- it's a squeeze but it fits! End of Month Goal: Based on the weight planner on this site, I should lose another 30lbs this month. I already know that's not going to happen. I barely lost 1, yes 1, pound last week. Fortunately, I upped my exercise this week and the weight is back to coming off again(whew!!!). I think my goal will be 20lbs this month.

Me: Stats: almost 6 weeks post-op, -32lbs. (counting the 11 I lost pre-op - otherwise it is only 21 lbs) Feeling: I'm a slow loser so it's been kind of weird. A bit depressing but everytime I lose I feel great again. Other than that I feel good. Maybe nervous. Food Difficulties: I haven't had any real difficulties except needing to slow down and chew more (especially for chicken). WOW Moment: I can fit into a sweatsuit my hubby bought me 7 years ago that I haven't been able to wear for a long time! End of Month Goal: I had wanted to be down to 200 but that is not going to happen so maybe if I lose 15. I also need to start exercising and getting in all my water! Thanks! Patty

Congrats on your WOW moment! I read that you are only expected to lose 10% of your weight that first month so you seem to be right on track... Keep up the good work!

Stats: 6 weeks post op - RNY proximal - 21 lbs. Feeling: Relatively good. I've got a pretty good level of energy, but am depressed about my weight loss (or lack of it). OVER THE PAST 4 WEEKS, I'VE ONLY LOST 1 POUND. Lost some more inches but that has stopped too. I've called the physician and he said that's NORMAL I have my 7 week visit coming up and I'm gonna ask for some answers. Food: I started recently. It's not continous, but occasionally, and it is the same food I've been eating. I've increased by protein and food in general since I was not eating enough. Exercise: Have been walking at least 1 mile a day, sometimes 2. WOW Moment: Fit in a size 22 jeans that I before surgery, the waist was about 4 inches too small. Goal: Continue to get all my protein and fluids in. Continue to exercise and not give up. And try to remain positive... the weight has to come off - or else I'll die OD'ing on a pizza!!! Pray for me!! Joann

on your exercise routine! I am trying to get w/ the program myself. I'm jealous of your energy , think you can bottle some up and email it to me? Your body may be in starvation mode since you are really just starting to eat. I'm sure as you increase your intake, things will change.... I had the 1lb blues last week, so I increased my exercise, proteined-up (including eating pizza, cheese only of course) and struggling to drink water and things are once again moving along... Keep me posted on your progress, we all need support! ~Tono

I love the name that you have chosen. I am at around 8 weeks, lost 62 pounds and feel great. Food DIfficulties: Eggs still elude me. I cannot drink any of the protien shakes, so I have been drinking 3 (15 oz total) of protidiet drinks per day. Wow Moment: Havent really had one recently, more like OW moments. THanksgiving kinda hurt because I felt a bit like a freak. Everyone expected me to eat MUCH more than I did, but we all know that wasnt possible. End of month goal: I would love to lose 30lbs this month, but I think I might be being a bit unrealistic. If I can get into the 21?'s i will be happy. Gonna try hard to start the new year in the sub 200's. Changes going through: exercise is on average 5.5 days a week for the last 3 weeks. It has become a family affair (wife daughter and son ahve all join me) and we are all feeling great. THnaks for asking. Dan 294/232/1something

Stats: 6 weeks post op -28 lbs. Feeling: Feeling Great. Plenty of energy, but am depressed about my not doing better with the weight loss. Haven't lost any in two weeks. Lost some inches but not alot. Food: Can't complain so far I haven't really had food issues, other than not chewing good at first, but have definitely learned from that mistake. Exercise: I walk a mile a about 3 to 4 days a week. WOW Moment: I haven't had one yet. Goal: Work REALLY hard to get my suppliments and protien in. Deffinitely increase my water (I'm only able to get about 32 oz in a day). Up my exercise to 5 days a week. And finally try to have a good attitude, and keep plunging ahead, knowing that this too shall pass. Melissa

Melissa, Don't fret your WOW moment is coming and keep us posted when it happens! on inches lost! I was thinking this morning that despite losing just 1lb last week, my clothes still fit a little looser and that's what is going to keep me going when the scale (bad scale!) refuses to move.... I am definitely feeling you on the water, never did like the stuff but I heard it increase weight loss so I'm just going to suffer on.... Here's a tall glass of water toast for you and I. ~Toni
